Golfer Reviews
Decent course, but guy in the pro shop not so good
Me and a buddy played a round at Stonebridge (Rome Ga), at 2:50 pm ( booked through Golf Now) on a hot weekday afternoon. We’ve played here many times over the years and enjoyed it every time with no issues. This particular day the course was wide open, nobody in front of us that we could see for several holes, we played very fast and never had to wait. We were surprised that there were hardly any golfers playing that afternoon, we finished at 5:20 and thought we might play 9 more holes. The guy at the pro shop informed us that that would not be possible because they were booked till closing. I looked around, nobody on #1 or #10, nobody approaching from #9 or #18. In fact, there were only about 10 cars in the parking lot. But the hipster who acted like he worked the for DMV stood his ground. We saw a single player with a 5:50 tee time and joined him. I told pro shop guy that was what we were doing, not much he could say about that. But the charge was $63.00 for 2 guys on a nine hole replay on a near empty golf course. Customer service skills and common sense from staff goes a long way.
Hidden Gem. Great golf course
First time playing this course, recommended by the starter at Lake Arrowhead, another great course. Pace of play was a little slow but it was due to cart path only rule, it is a nice course away from Atlanta at an affordable rate. One little thing is that no one bothered to mention that the greens were aerated the day before. I will come back.
Great course, becoming a favorite!
I use Stonebridge driving range as my home range, mainly because they have grass tees available more often than other places. As for the golf, the course was in very good shape. Greens were rolling smooth and true. A few more unrepaired ball marks on the green than I'd like, but hard to control that unfortunately. Course is fair, challenging in spots, wide open in others. Stuck behind a slow group on Sunday, so could have used a marshall, but wan't terrible. Definitely will be back!
Loved it!
Loved everything about the course. My only two complaints were the putting green and fairway grass clippings. The putting green only had three holes and if there are multiple people on the green you might be putting one hole with two other people. As far as the fairways, I’m sure with all the recent rain maybe they were behind on mowing but lines of grass clippings were everywhere. Other than those minor complaints I’d still give this course a 10/10! I will be back.
It’s in great shape
The course is in great shape in the heat of the summer
Good grass in the fairways and rough
The greens roll true
A few blind tee shots would make local knowledge helpful
All in all it’s a fun course and I’ll be back
Stonebridge Fun
The day was good, the Golf was fun, and the course was in good shape for the price.
Surprise Disappointment
Arrived at the course and was told the back nine holes were closed and we were to play the front twice. Was not disclosed at booking time. No discount or apology.
Fun Track
Always enjoy the course. Pace of play was a bit slow. People don't understand ready golf so watching them always makes it worse. Greens rolling at a nice pace. We will be back soon.
Stonebridge
First time playing the course and was very impressed. It was a chilly and very windy morning which made the first few holes after an hour car ride tough. The layout is phenomenal and challenging. Everything is right in front of you even though I had never seen the course before. The greens aren't in full summertime mode yet with some inconsistency of green speeds but were firm and rolled true. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was for the bunkers which could use a full overhaul. Otherwise I was very impress
Course is great
Course is a great track and normally in great shape. It was the complete opposite of great shape when we played it. One hole was closed, there was tire tracks all over the place. It needs some time to heel from all the course maintenance and rain we have had lately. Worse condition I have ever seen it.
