Course needs TLC
My overall experience was good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Being in winter and experiencing a lot of rain the past few weeks, the course was very sloppy which is understandable but there were widespread areas of hard pan not far off the fairways and I think payed a lot of difficult lies or even at times I just pick up my ball and moved it to a patch of playable surface which would be several yards away. I guess I should hit mor fairways. Lol. I’d definitely go back when conditions are dry
Pretty decent. But it really holds water. Greens and fairways in okay shape. Tee boxes not so much.
Great fun course for the $$
Definitely one of the most fun courses that I’ve played. The greens were moderately tough to read. Playing from the tip can be long for a 17 handicapper but it takes the water out on some holes. Overall great course for the money..
Coming Back
The course is in good condition. I haven't played there since February but I will be coming back again very soon. The greens were fast and hard.
Great course
Small fast greens! Loved it! Tight fairways makes you play ball position off.the tees.
Need to make more Affordable
The course needs to be better maintained. The bunkers/greens/roughs are all in TERRIBLE shape. Grass looked like It had not been cut in weeks. The greens had just been aerated and we’re covered in sand.
Southern Gem
I wasn't expecting much but found a hidden gem that I plan to play often when I'm home visiting my parents.
Great Pace
3 1/2 hours 18 holes!!!
Pro Shop is really good. I bought a few items and they made it easy.
It’s a nice city course.
Country Oaks Nice Change of pace
For a cold windy day in early February it was pretty nice. Played on a Sunday at just under 50 degrees. Course was in very good shape for all the rain we'd been having. I've been going up to Country Oaks on an off from Tallahassee for over 20 years. The new clubhouse is nice but no food or drink on Sundays. Layout is relatively flat, lots of doglegs but it's not too long, just a bit tight, lots of trees but between the holes the undergrowth is almost non existent. I always enjoy Country Oaks.
In Good Shape
Nick in the pro shop is super friendly. Course is in great shape right now and plays fairly true. Greens are in decent shape and bunkers are all playable. Besides some minor spots with drainage issues, it’s a nice little municipal course. Probably plays a decent bit harder than it’s rating and yardage.
