Always enjoy our visit, but ...
I've been making return visits from Tallahassee to Country Oaks over the course of the past year after many years away. The people are great and the layout is solid, with the course much more mature than I previously remembered.
Always find the folks working there hospitable, and by and large, the fees are solid.
The only negative (aside from not being able to purchase a Sunday beer after poor play on the front, LOL) was that a good number of the greens were in poor condition.
We will be back hopeful that growth on the greens will return!
Absolute Garbage
This course might have been the worst course I’ve ever played on!!! The tee boxes were about as level as Mount Everest. Everything was mud. It was like hitting out of the sand every shot. Because the fairways were so bad. Wouldn’t play here for free
Course conditions have improved!
In particular, the conditions of the greens have improved. Very enjoyable experience. Great value for the money.
Tight Fairways
Staff was very friendly at check in. Course was in good overall shape. Some fairways have large trees on both sides so hitting an iron off the tee may be best. Pace of play was excellent as our threesome finished in under 4 hours.
Best Bang for your Buck
Course layout, condition, price, pace of play is unmatched
Very fine day
Not crowded the day I played. Greens were consistent and fairways adequate. There are some weak areas due to so many tall trees shading the grass. Overall, a tough layout that’s challenging.
Clean, quiet, pleasant
Friendly staff, very clean environment, and pleasant layout. I had a little issue with a cart that wanted to power away by itself, but the staff quickly took care of that. The pro shop was well stocked and very neat - a very welcoming arrangement. Only issue with course layout was range overlapping fairway on #10. Keep an eye on your ball if you want to find it!
Course has great potential
Always enjoy playing this course, beautiful layout and has potential to be a great course, I have been playing this course since the 80’s but I seems that they just can’t get it together enough to where every thing is in great shape all at the same time.
