Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

Marriott You Have to do Better!!!
It was disappointing to see how bad a shape this course is in for a Marriott Resort owned property.
Tee Boxes, Fairways, Especially the Greens( diseased and bare & patchy for 16 out of 18 greens)
No clear signage showing where next tee box located and what was signage it was old and broken.
I’ve stayed at several Marriotts in the US and always was very satisfied with resort & golf courses were excellent. It appears they need new interested management at Cranes Landing to get up to other Marriott Golf Course High Standards.
Front 9 greens need lots of work
Was disappointed with bumpy front nine greens, majority of fairways too close to each other, expect to lose lots of balls. Back nine in much better condition, but very narrow..Challenging course
Wide open fairways
Great course. Even better prices. The clubhouse has a great bar and great food options.
Very fun course to play and good rate of play too.
Worst Greens Ever
Greens are in terrible shape. It’s like putting on asphalt. The front line is pretty pedestrian. But the back nine is actually pretty fun, very tight, but the greens are complete crap. And let the greens improve will never play it again.
Gone down hill
Father’s Day outing have not been there in a few years the grounds not well kept and not enough food or amenities.
Terrible Conditions
From tee to green, the conditions of this course are lousy.
The greens barely have any grass which makes it impossible to putt. The tee boxes are not maintained and it’s hard to even find a spot to hit from.
Even the fairways you’ll find your ball on areas that are harder to hit from than if it was sitting up in the rough.
Greens were terrible
Nearly every green on the front 9 (only played 9) was fuzzy and had sporadic dead patches. Made for incredibly bumpy and unpredictable putts.
Good course to work on all aspects of your game
The greens could be in better conditions. Too many birdie looks will not convert due to unpredictable bumps, and uneven turf. Also, you might lose a decent amount of balls due to the landscape. Otherwise, decent well managed country club. Friendly staff willing to help with any problems might arise.
Course conditions are very rough
Greens were so badly damaged that they were unplayable. Course conditions were very rough. The course needs a lot of work. Definitely not worth the $70 we paid. Ranger came to us on hole 12 to tell us we were behind pace and others were waiting behind us, yet no group ever came to a tee box at any time during the rest of our round. Will not be coming back here.
Terrible Greens
We played Sunday, 6/8 and the greens were in the worst condition of anywhere I’ve played in a long time. They should not be charging $70/round to play mini-golf putting through dead patches on every green.
