Raccoon Creek Golf Course
About
The Raccoon Creek Golf Course is a public, 18-hole golf course in Littleton. It covers 7,045 yards from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course has some difficult elements, such as elevation changes, but it is still beginner-friendly. Water hazards come into play on seventeen holes. The most difficult hole of the course, one of the most difficult in Colorado according to the Colorado Golf Associates, is the par-3 17th hole. The hole runs alongside a creek, the creek that the course is named after, and requires a shot over a portion of it to a very well protected green.

Monday golf
The course was great....having said that the greenside bunker were not. There seemed to be more sand in the fairway bunkers. No chance of a splash shot, play like hard pan. They need to add sand to the bunkers. Big time. Less than an inch in the two I was in. There should be sand in a bunker or fill it with water and make a water hazard.
Except for the threat of enough rain to ruin the second nine, great course. Challenging, but with some holes that made it feel like you had a chance. Not problem getting a rain check after 9.
Nice but way too slow
Really nice layout and conditions were super given the drenching rains recently however 5-1/2 hour round and being told 2 times pace would pick up but does not means the only time I will consider this course again is if I know they are not booked full. 5-1/2 hours is inexcusable!
Good Course
This was the first time I played here. It was challenging with some long carries from the back tees. With all the rain we have been getting, hitting out of the long rough wasn't much fun. 54 dollars with a cart is well worth it. I will definitely play here again.
Great condition
Greens roll very true, a couple of gimmicky little holes. pace could have been a little better. Overall a nice round of golf.
This is a very nice, user-friendly layout, but the pace of play was abysmal the day we played.
Positives: The course itself is in excellent condition. Negatives: It took us 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete our round. We played behind a six-some (that's right, 6 players) the entire front nine, and on a couple of occasions there were fourteen (14) golfers on the same hole . . . 6 playing the hole, and 8 waiting on the tee box. You get the picture, right? As a nice a course as this is, it's a shame that little or no attention is being paid to improving the pace of play.
Great course layout
First time playing the course. Speed of play was good. I walked and probably won't do that again. Loved the layout. Would definitely play again
The long wait
This is the 3rd time in a row that it has taken over 5 hours to play this course. This time 5 hrs and 10 minutes. Waited on almost every shot. There were no tournaments thus the marshals (which they have) did a poor job of maintaining pace of play. When asked the marshall said it was a result of one slow group. Duuuuuh.
great time
I love this mature course. There's plenty to get you trouble but it is very fair. The course is in great condition and I had one of the breakfast sandwiches and it had a big thick piece of ham and real egg!!! Good is inexpensive !!!
Slow play is one thing 5hrs & 20min takes the enjoyment out of the round.
When we checked in no one said we are running 25 minutes behind. We found that out when we went to the starter house at 1:20 for a 1:28 tee time. We teed off around 1:55 while we waited we noticed that no group teed off on #10 until we were called to #1. That meant there was a 20-25 minute opening with slow play 9-10 holes ahead of us. We new it was going to be slow when on the 2nd tee a Marshall came to us and said he was pushing the groups ahead of us and they were bumper to bumper. We found it ironic that he also commented that he had heard about 5 and half hour rounds at other courses in the area. When we turn the cart in it was showing 5 hrs and 20 minutes of play time plus the original dlay in teeing off put us at almost 6 hours to get done. We love the cousre and it is in good shape accept for some standing water in places and in some sand traps. If the Marshalls are doing thier jobs and if bad golfers will play easier courses or possiblly pick up after 10 shots. We waited on every tee and on every shot on the back nine. At some point a Marshall needs to tell the group that is causing the problem to pick up and move to the next tee.
Great course
If you can find a deal time for this course, don't let it pass. It is well kept and the greens are incredibly challenging but roll true to speed. You will likely shoot several strokes higher than usual but you will have more fun doing so on this picturesque track.
Pace of play extremely slow
This was the first time playing this course. I went out there with my two sons, who are in their 20's and 30's. We are fairly experienced golfers. The course was nice, and since we've been having a lot of rain, it was all pretty lush and green. The problem was the pace of play. It was Memorial Day weekend, so you knew it would be a busy day (especially since people felt like they've been couped up inside with all the rain). There were obviously, a lot of first-time, or newer golfers out there who were having difficulty with their shots. I don't have a problem with that. The problem was that there were NO COURSE MARSHALLS out on the course. Either Raccoon Creek doesn't want to spring for them, or they just decided to not put any out there. You have to keep the pace moving along at a fairly good pace, otherwise it's not fun for anyone. I had no problem with the course itself. I had a problem with the course management. It was not worth the price that I and my sons paid. There was a guy playing as a single who was put with us, and he was only playing 9 because he knew that for 18 it would take too long. We had a tee time of 10:28, didn't tee off until 10:45, and we had to leave at 3:30, after only completing 15 holes. Terrible terrible course management. For the kind of money that was paid for that round, they need to hire better people to run the place.
Great place to play
Even with the soggy conditions it was very challenging and fun to play
Great Littleton course
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. The course is well laid out with more than enough challenge for a beginner like me.
Fun course but slow as molasses
I played this course maybe a dozen times in 2014 because I had a Player's Card. I don't think we ever played in under 5 hours. The only time we ever saw a marshal on the course, he warned us for playing too slow (as we were waiting on the slowpokes in front of us to get out of range).
Nonetheless, the course layout has some really fun holes. The greens were extremely hard and fast, even after a couple of days of heavy rain.
It's a fun course but way overpriced compared to other courses in Littleton.
