Raccoon Creek Golf Course
About
The Raccoon Creek Golf Course is a public, 18-hole golf course in Littleton. It covers 7,045 yards from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course has some difficult elements, such as elevation changes, but it is still beginner-friendly. Water hazards come into play on seventeen holes. The most difficult hole of the course, one of the most difficult in Colorado according to the Colorado Golf Associates, is the par-3 17th hole. The hole runs alongside a creek, the creek that the course is named after, and requires a shot over a portion of it to a very well protected green.

person ahead of us napping while waiting to tee off Photo submitted by u000007966850 on 07/21/2015
Painfully slow
After finishing 15 and seeing the group in front not teeing off, I decided that was enough fun for one day. It was slow from the first tee. At the time I left, I was already at 4.5 hours. I estimate it would have been a 5.5 hour round had I finished.
Rain checks
We played 2 1/2 holes before we got rained out and went to the pro shop for a rain check. They issued us a rain check for 16 holes because we had played two before the rain. First time a course issued a 16 hole rain check instead of all 18.
Raccoon Creek
The course is challenging and well manicured. It was a lot of fun playing here.In Denver the ball goes 10 to 15% farther so you will need to adjust your yardages, so I would watch out for the parts of the course that have hazards within driving distance. You may reach them without being aware
Challenging Course, Slow Pace
I love this course because every hole is a good challenge and club selection is very key. The past few times I have been, there has been a slower pace of play. This is a course where you really need to be honest with yourself and your game before you walk up to the blue or black tees. Load up on beverages before you tee off because the beverage cart is rarely seen. Practice facilities are some of the best.
Overpriced
I have played this course several times and never had a good experience. Parking is a trial. Staff is indifferent. Always something wrong with the course. One time there is no sand at all in the bunkers - more like hardpan. Another time fairways are unusable because of ground under repair. Rough is wildly inconsistent. They had tricked out the course for a tournament and had THREE flags on one green. Way overpriced for a mediocre golf course.
Raccoon is my favorite course that will really challenge you
I have been playing here a bunch for 5 years and love this place. It is hard, fast greens but a good challange
Nice Track
Pretty straight forward course. Love that there are many water hazards which is rare for Denver courses.
Course under construction
I have played Raccoon Creek many times over the years and it has always been one of my favorite courses. Playing this day the course was in a huge construction phase. The greens were being punched and the ones on the front nine had recently been sanded. There was also several temporary tee boxes and cart paths torn up all over the place. I am sure it will be worth playing agin when all the construction is completed. It was definitely not the best conditions to play but I will be back sometime down the road.
Greens still in winter condition
Pace of play picked up second 9. Very slow first 9. Staff was courteous and friendly. Carts are nice with GPS. You can also rent board rider golf carriers which are nice for the younger golfers. Course is still in winter condition. Greens were sanded.
Better markings?
My main criticism would be directions from one hole to the next could be better marked out. Course will play better as the season warms and the grass starts growing.
Great Course But Slow
This is a great golf course and I'd recommend it to anyone who has 6 hours to burn. Always in good condition, a very fun layout, but this has to be the slowest course in the state. I have played here 10+ times and have never finished a weekend round in under 5:15.
Fun but difficult course with slow play
Raccoon Creek is a really beautiful course to play. It is difficult, 14 holes have water hazards, but reasonable if you actually play the tees you are rated for by handicap. As usual, there are plenty of ding dongs that play the "tips" who have no business doing so. The marshals came around a lot to check pace of play and it was average for a weekend. We rode but the two others we were paired with walked. That slowed us down sooooooo much. I can't believe we weren't rushed ahead by the group behind us. The marshall hurried my partner and I once which was ridiculous as we were both only 5 over but our other two were ultra, painfully slow. The course is in great shape though!! Still had fun even though it was such a long round.
Early morning play
Got the 6:29 am tee time. No one in front or back. Course is in amazing shape. Tee boxes have gotten better, ( no bodies buried underneath). Bunker sand is now real sand. The staff is always fabulous and friendly. We got done in 3 1/2 hours.
Great price nice ciurse
Good conditions and pace of play was excellent
This course has great features
great track, great shape and greens were super fast...
Great track
Very cool course with some tricky layouts. There's some sort of trouble on most holes so keeping it in the fairways is ideal. Get I'd size greens that were receptive to well hit shots. 18 holes took just over 4 1/2 hours with nobody in front of us.
