The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

Maui Nui reunion

Maui Nui was in pretty good condition except for the temporary work they were working on? Temporary 2nd hole because of no 17th hole? Some of the greens were not in good condition? Usually when we’ve played this course it’s usually in better condition.

Nice Layout but….

This could be a really fun round of golf. I like the course layout but unfortunately, it looks like it not has not been well tended to. The greens were note mowed or rolled and not well cared for. I hope someone comes in and helps them bring his course back into some degree of acceptability while I love the course and the people are awesome. It just is not fun to play without it being in better condition.

Needs a lot of work

The course has changed its layout and if you are playing it for the first time can be very confusing. You have 10 holes on the front side and eight holes after you make the turn, not sure why that was done. The fairways were in mostly decent shape as were the greens but there are many very rough patches all over the course and the tee boxes very mostly trashed. The course charges a pretty high hem free for are course that needs a lot of work. When the course was elleair it was in much better shape.

Sad to see an old favorite in trouble.

This was my go-to course for many years, but based on today’s round I think I will wait a while to play again.

I guess they have had some issues and I’m not sure what they were, but the 17th hole is totally closed and another was shortened to about half its length. Greens were in pretty rough shape with lots of dead spots and fairways were also rough.

I used to love this course and I really hope they get it back in shape soon.

Great course for the money!!!!!

Every hole was beautiful!! we had a great time! They were So very Accommodating!! The greens are somewhat slow but that didn't affect our great time there. I'd play there again next time I'm in Maui!

Decided to play at last minute on Monday afternoon, booked online with GolfNow, good price and went without a hitch at course. GREAT staff, all very friendly and helpful. Starter was hanging out in a cart at the barn, grabbed a cooler for my cart when the beverage cart lady arrived before I teed off. She found me twice during the round, good attention! I played on my own, two balls most holes, great time and a great course! Windy as all get-out, but not their fault lol!!
