The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

install some restrooms on the course ..please!

First of all, the employees were all hard working and nice. That being said, we were backed up from the start to the finish and running very slow. No food service at the "clubhouse" .We were told that there was a beverage cart..which we found at hole 17. It looked like a maintenance cart. We had ladies in our 4 some and we could only locate one outhouse ( porta-potty ) from hole 10 through 18. It was in terrible dirty condition. For the price and offered amenities, I would have a very difficult time recommending this course to anyone in the future.

Thank you for the review. Thank you for the positive words about our staff. We are very sorry about the restroom situation. We do have Bathrooms on #3, #7 and at the turn. Depending on the time of the day you play, our beverage cart gets on the course at 9am.I apologize for the experience you had. Please give me a call the next time you are back on island.

Maui nui rocks

Great course and the staff was really friendly. They gave me a complimentary bucket of balls. The pace of play was excellent. We had a little bit of a task to keep up with the group of head of us. We were a four some. But we did our best to keep up. But the course was great. The greens were a little bit bumpy and rough but I think that's normal for this time of year.

Cannof beat the value of the course

Tee boxes were alright. Fairways and rough were alright also. Greens were in good shape with good speed. Hit a good put and it was going in.

The course had some bald spots and some places were torn up by what looks hog damage. We just took relief from these spots and played on.

Cart service was great.

We played in 4 hours. We got caught behind a slow group and they struggled at times.

Very slow pace of play

I have played this course many times and it is one of my favorites however today there was a tournament in front of us and the pace of play was off by 45 minutes. Only saw a Marshall once at 3 and then at 16 and he did nothing about trying to move things up. The GPS in the cart was aware of the slow pace and yet it doesn’t do anything to notify staff to keep the people moving at the correct pace. Waiting for at least 5-7 minutes on each hole is not good for your momentum. I will be back though. Probably not on a weekend though.
