The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

Rough around the edges

Watering the course better would do wonders. Driving Range had nice theme but surface was horrible to hit off of. Greens and tee boxes needed work, and sand traps needed raking, as there were no rakes were available to the player

Decent shape, okay value

Maui Nui was the third course I played on my vacation (Kaanapali Kai, Municipal Maui Course) and was the least favorite of the three I played. Pace of play was kind of slow, and there was nothing spectacular about the course in terms on views or conditions. Play the municipal course, it’s cheaper and nicer.

Always a great day at Maui Nui

I have played this course regularly for the last 30 years. Although I have always enjoyed it, this past 3 months has been the best I have experienced. I can not say enough good about the staff in the Pro Shop which includes Paul, Joe, Michelle and Derek. There is one other lady I don’t know by name that is also a gem. They are all extremely efficient, knowledgeable and willing to assist everyone. The starters led by Buff and Gayland are very efficient at getting all groups coordinated and on the course in a timely manner. The Marshalls that I have had occasion to chat with are always friendly and willing to assist if need be.

With the weather challenges and wild boars that have been tearing up areas of the course, the Superintendent and his crew have done an amazing job in keeping everything in above average playing conditions.

The layout is tremendous and offers a challenge to all skill levels depending on which tees are played.

With the different programs such as multiple day or the player’s card, there is no better deal on Maui for reasonably priced golf..
