The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

Never do reviews but had to. Great experience.

Had an excellent round here. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We needed extra cart for ride alongs as we were introducing golf to some family members.

We were sure to keep up with group ahead and Marshall took time to stop and thank us for doing so.

Felt the course was in very good shape and enjoyed the layout.

As a muni we felt eyes from what I'm sure were their regulars but if you vacation on Maui ever you come to expect it. Round took about 5 hours - typical muni times.

Course value is excellent and I will absolutely play here again hoping to get the same level of care from staff.

Interesting course - no gimmicky holes

Constant 20-30 mph winds with gusts reportedly up to 50 mph made the course very challenging yet I had my best score so far this year.

Nice people and nice course not much for amenities

This course is a good value for the money. The amenities are not much. Carts are in poor condition but run. Cart paths are rough but get you from hole to hole. The pro shop and restaurant are in a trailer but the food and people are great. I would play it again because the course itself is pretty well maintained.

Decent value for your money if you got a hot deal rate

Layout is nice, greens are in reasonable shape but there was lots of bare dirt edges and muddy spots and play was very slow. We waited at almost every hole and the game took over five hours.

Maui Nui—Friendly Staff & Nice Layout

Nice, challenging layout. Not your typical resort course with wide open fairways, no trees, and few bunkers. Course seemed a bit dry. Greens were very firm and hard to hold. Fairways were bentgrass, which was nice. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Rental club cost of $60 was high relative to other courses I played on Maui during my stay.
