Makena Beach & Golf Resort

We used to love this course. It is now in terrible shape, sand traps are dirt/rock and the fairways need mowing. It is a great layout,, though. This was our second favorite course (Wailea Gold is our favorite), but for the $99 greens fee, totally not worth the experience. We paid full price at the Emerald Wailea ($179) the day before, and it was well worth the extra $80. Super disappointed. If it was $49, we would have been happy. The quality of the experience modes not equate to $99 and certainly not to the posted rate of $159

The course had alot of great holes and some very nice views. The weather is great at this part of the inland.

Very much enjoyed the layout, a nice mix of holes for everybody's ability. The monster par 5, 600 plus yard hole is fun. Fantastic ocean view from many of the holes make this a must play golf course, stunning. Bring your camera. The hidden Jem is the 19th hole, stop in for a cocktail and appy and take in one of maui's best sunsets.

Could have played for 38.00 With ezlinks but payed 65 with golfnow

This was an awesome experience. Wanted to play in this area of Maui for a reasonable price, and my wife suggested looking at the Golf Now website, and we found this lovely course at a great value.

Fantastic! - super friendly staff and excellent course conditions. The course is awesome with great mountain and ocean views that never end. You can make it as difficult as you want with the variety of tee boxes. With the Golf now early morning rates I thought it was a great value. I'm very glad that I played at Makena for my one day of golf while on Maui

this is my favorite Maui course.... there must be ocean views almost every hole. great elevation changes. wild life, birds, and if your lucky in the winter, whale watching. take your camera... plenty of sand to catch you... great gps, showing all the distances you need to know for staying on the fairway. split fairways, tiered greens, fun, fun, fun.... grinning ear to ear when I finished, even though I didn't score well.

I had doubts prior to deciding on Makena and they were totally blown away. The course is a good test, incredibly scenic and we played in 4 hours. Yes the bunker sand could be better and some fairways a bit "rough" but don't just settle for the resort courses. This is a beauty.

Great course with plenty of challenges for all skill levels. Number 6 is a very exciting par with lots of options.

I loved the course, and actually shot my age for the first time ever, and on my 71st birthday. The course has wonderful vistas, and was in superb condition. I'll play it every time I come to Maui.

This course is very well maintained but not overly difficult and is in an area where a $150+ round is normal where on Golfnow you can play this for under $100 for comparable quality. A must play if you stay near by.

Awesome views and well maintained course on the Island of Maui. The first few holes lead you to believe you can master this course the first time out. Wrong! There are plenty of challenging holes on the back nine to bring you to your knees! Beautiful views on every hole and no big winds. Definitely would love to play it again and again!!!

For the cost, I would say it is one of the best courses I've played. Almost every hole had a stunning view of the ocean, the workers were all very nice. The greens had just been aerated, so their condition wasn't perfect, as would be expected, however the greens still rolled true. Had a blast. Absolutely GORGEOUS golf course.

Tee boxes were excellent (except one was being re-soded) fairways had perfect lies, and greens were pristine. The views were spectacular, and every hole had its own character.
The course was fair and possible to score good. Especially if you played within yourself. You could pay dearly for the wrong choice.

I can't wait to return.

Great course with excellent value for tourists!!! With all the other course close by costing almost twice as much, Makena gives you the best value in SouthMaui!!

The best $69 ever spent on a golf course. Magnificent views on almost every hole, great conditions, friendly staff, challenging course, carts with GPS, water bottles & towels included!
I'd go back tomorrow!

My first trip and first course to play in Hawaii. I was impressed with the layout, views and conditions. Shot 80 from the Blue tees, could have been 4-5 shots better. I would recommend this course to all my friends. Before we left on vacation a friend of mine highly recommended Makena for the value beauty and great golf. We'll be back!!
