Pukalani Country Club has a unique location at the 1,100-foot elevation of the famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name means “House of the Rising Sun.” The dramatic elevation offers breathtaking views that span the West Maui Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The golf course features wide, undulating fairways and fast, sloped greens. The gently rolling terrain can cause some tricky uneven lies. There are trees and well placed bunkers scattered throughout to provide further challenge. Pukalani Country Club has a unique feature on the par-3 third hole. The hole gives golfers the options of hitting to one of two very different greens, one which requires a tee shot over a tree-filled gully and another that requires a shot beyond a cliff to a pal tree-lined green.

A very nice course for the price

Nice wide fairways and receptive greens. A lot of elevation changes and challenging par 3s over ravines. Cart/starter very friendly and welcoming but pro/or pro shop staff was complete opposite at check-in. He may have even grunted when seeing my GolfNow prepaid tee time. Not much in the way of facilities but golf course was in excellent condition compared to the facilities. Would play again when in Maui.

Best value on Maui

Best deal on Maui for the overall condition and scenic views. Course was in great condition and the staff was very friendly. Only slight criticism would be the golf carts need to be updated, some times a little bumpy ride. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to get back there!

Twilight golf

Golf course was fine, but they request carts off the course at 5:30 so the 18 hole pkg purchased through golf now for 3:20 became a 9 hole round. It was fine with us we talked about just doing nine anyway, but would have been nice to know when we booked it.

#1 Destination in Upcountry, Maui

My wife and I had an amazing day upcountry at Pukalni GC. First we had one of the best breakfasts we've ever had at their restraunt/bakery, Then an amazing round of golf. Plenty of spectacular views of the island were available on many holes and the course was in great condition. We played Waiehu earlier in the week - right on the ocean - made us wonder after all these years we've been paying much more at the resorts for the same or lesser golf experience. The staff has the big dogs beat as well. We'll be back at Pukalani for breakfast and golf next year.
