Pukalani Country Club has a unique location at the 1,100-foot elevation of the famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name means “House of the Rising Sun.” The dramatic elevation offers breathtaking views that span the West Maui Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The golf course features wide, undulating fairways and fast, sloped greens. The gently rolling terrain can cause some tricky uneven lies. There are trees and well placed bunkers scattered throughout to provide further challenge. Pukalani Country Club has a unique feature on the par-3 third hole. The hole gives golfers the options of hitting to one of two very different greens, one which requires a tee shot over a tree-filled gully and another that requires a shot beyond a cliff to a pal tree-lined green.

Great view and great golf

We played this course for the second time and had a really good experience. This course does not have a lot of holes that are undulated, but you are often hitting downhill or uphill. Greens are wide and fairly flat without significant undulations , except for a couple of holes we got a good Hot deal and hope to play again someday. You must play with a cart walking. This course would be a really tough workout because of distances and elevation up-and-down. In fact, I don’t think they allow people to walk the course.

Fun course, good value

Fun course on slope of Haleakala. Can be dry but they just had rain when we played and it was nice and green. Best thing in my opinion is the restaurant in the trailer there. Really excellent the few times I've been there. Kudos!

Great time

Staff was excellent course is wide and player friendly carts are a little on the old side I had one that backfired a lot but it kept everybody on their toes TeeOff didn’t get my reservation included but I showed the staff my receipt and they said they would take care of it and I got out a little earlier that I thought I would so overall a really great experience. Play here and have fun a lot of great views

Great time

This is a forgiving course, wide fairways and good lies on all holes. The staff was very helpful as I booked thru TeeOff and they didn’t have me on their start sheet I showed them the receipt from TeeOff and they got me out earlier that scheduled and I played with some locals that were very helpful on club use overall very happy

The course is situated on a beautiful tract with scenic views. There are a few blind shots uphill. The greens were in good shape. The course is playable to score at or below your handicap rating.. This course is good value for the money.

Well deserved vacation

I have played Pukalani quite a few times in the past years. However I wasn't able to nor did I want to come to the Islands during COVID, so we had not been here since 2019. This time I played 3 Thursdays (special rate for visitors or locals alike) I couldn't have asked for a better group of locals to play my rounds with. Dave, Dave and Rob on one Thurs. and Ryan and his crew another Thursday. The course is in great shape and is very playable. Best value on the Island.

Worth playing

We played it 4X on while on holiday. Combined with our previous time here I feel fairly comfortable out on the course. What I don't feel comfortable on are the carts and the cart paths. They are both rough. The cart paths are expanding as well. There is a drought going on which makes that worse. However the part you're supposed to play on, is in pretty good shape. The greens were slow today but in very good condition.
