Pukalani Country Club
About
Pukalani Country Club has a unique location at the 1,100-foot elevation of the famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name means “House of the Rising Sun.” The dramatic elevation offers breathtaking views that span the West Maui Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The golf course features wide, undulating fairways and fast, sloped greens. The gently rolling terrain can cause some tricky uneven lies. There are trees and well placed bunkers scattered throughout to provide further challenge. Pukalani Country Club has a unique feature on the par-3 third hole. The hole gives golfers the options of hitting to one of two very different greens, one which requires a tee shot over a tree-filled gully and another that requires a shot beyond a cliff to a pal tree-lined green.

Good value, great condition, great views
A few greens need work but fairways and traps in great shape. Greens rolled well.
No on course cart services and no coolers to accommodate bought beverages to keep them cold
Driving range limited to irons only
Will play again in a few days.
Great value
Really enjoyed this course! Good condition, beautiful views. Love the discounts on clothes in pro shop. Will continue to bring friends back. We all had a great time. Course drains really well. Even though we had to wait for showers to stop turned into a beautiful day and dry conditions on course.
Great find
This was a very good golf experience. Course is a little long for me (6400+) from the white tees but the lack of fairway sand traps offsets the length. Fairways & tees were in great shape. Greens were slow. Staff here is great. Extremely nice, professional and accommodating. Affordable and well worth the money. Would play here again in a second.
The wind makes it interesting!
Pukulani was in good shape except for 2 or 3 greens which were rough and a different speed. Very good value for the money.
Hidden Gem
Tucked away at the base of mount Haleakala, this course has some spectacular views. The front 9 of this course is easily the better of the 9 with some off the charts scenery. Pace of play was great for the first 11 holes, but it was much slower the final 7. Overall the course is a great value, especially for those not looking to spend an arm and a leg on Maui for golf. Can't do much better then $40 a person. Would love to eventually come back!
P.S.- only regret was not getting some merch, the logo is awesome!
Beautiful Course & Incredible Value!
Don’t let the look of the clubhouse from the parking lot fool you, this course has a great layout that is very well maintained by the grounds crew. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was great from the clubhouse. We got a Hot Deal and paid $16 per golfer before the service fee. Definitely worth many times that and we will be back to play again!
Great value.
I booked on Golfnow. I read the reviews and thought I would give it a go. The layout is very friendly, but still has challenging holes, especially where some of the pins were placed. The condition of the course was very good. I would definitely play again.
1st timer at Pukalani
Been to Maui many times, but first time to play it. Wasn't disappointed. Played mid-week, so played in 3 hours. Course layout and condition were both primo. If you haven't played this course, go treat yourself, and play this site, off that's a little diversion, from the expensive courses in Wailea and Kan'anapli.
A Hidden Gem
This course is a bit out of the way from the tourist areas, but that isn't all bad. The front nine was in good shape, the back nine was a bit less. The course overall is in pretty good shape and the hazards are manageable. The third hole is a real treat, the rest are fun to play. The course is on the long side, but again, manageable. Well worth the drive.
Pukalani Is A Favorite
My wife and I played Pukalani today. We have not been to Maui for about 3 years and we enjoyed Pukalani before and enjoyed it today. It's a nice golf course to enjoy relaxing golf at.
Great round - great course!
Every time we go to Maui we play Pukalani. We love the course and the deals you can get playing there. Fairways are wide and greens are good. For value this is the best course on Maui! Good deals on golf shoes too. Looking forward to coming back again!
A hidden gem
This course is a bit off the beaten path for visitors to Maui, but worth the extra time. A fun , well laid out course with lots of room for big hitters. Wide open long fairways. Greens are a bit rough, but well worth the cost for a round.
Thanksgiving Treat
My wife and I love this course. The cooler weather due to high elevation makes the game more enjoyable. The greens are well maintained. We played six times during our 14 day vacation here in Maui, we ended up playing three of those in Pukalani CC. We will definitely play this course again on our next vacation trip to Maui.
Hidden Gem
This course is in the mountains of Maui.
The staff is incredible. The views will leave you speechless.
The course is in great shape.
If I get back to Maui it's the first course I will play.
Very dated Golf Facility and Course
Golf on Maui is extremely expensive, from $180.00 to $300 per round. We decided to drive to the Pukalani Golf Course, as our green fees with cart were under $50 with cart. It is quite a drive from Wailea, where we were staying, around 45 minutes. The Clubhouse is very old, could use a great deal of refurbishment. We ordered food from the restaurant, and it was good. Restaurant is more like a fast food place where you order, pay, and sit. Clean, but dated. Golf carts are gas powered. Fairways were very dry. Weeds were overgrown in some spots. A few holes were very confusing, the cart path ended and we drove on dirt. On one of the holes on the back nine, we accidentally hit onto the wrong green, as there were two different “green” choices, high or low. The phrase “ you get what you pay for” can certainly apply to this course. Affordable, playable, not difficult at all. If you don’t mind the drive-it’s worth what you pay.
Great Mountainside Course
My first time here but will return on next visit. On side of a volcano but really doesn’t overwork the up and down. Great value especially with Golf Now. Definitely coming back to Pukalani. Make sure you get logo shirt or hat or whatever. Logo is volcano! Great views of Lower Maui.
