Heritage Oaks Golf Club - Classic 18

First time playing this course. This course if very forgiving with wide fairways and good sized greens with minimal break. This course would fit average golfers perfectly. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. GPS, a range, separate putting and chipping greens to warm up. This was worth every penny at just $38 @ 5:30 w/ cart. I would come back.

Sportsman's Classic 18 is a true traditional golf course with trees, well-placed bunkers, and challenging greens. Don't let the short total distance fool you as there are a number of full-sized par 4's in excess of, or almost 400 yards. Fairways are well manicured with good roll if you hit straight. If not, rough is a decent height and trees come into play. Greens are not easy to read and speed is medium with typical public course problem of unprepared ball marks.

compared to florida courses, looks green and beautiful

I have played this course over 50 times in the last 10 years. This was the worst I have ever seen the greens. There were aeration holes the size of quarters that made putting like a game of Plinko. The rest of the course was in excellent shape. I will not be coming back until the greens are in better shape.

Pace was ok until I it a foursome of Japanese guys that played like each stroke would be their last one...

Please have a ranger go around and have people keep-up with pace.

The greens are re-growing, lumpy and aerated maybe a month ago? Very fast and need more attention. Everything else on the course was spectacular!

Sportsman’s is always a challenge. It’s a bit early in the year to expect pristine conditions. I’ll play it later on and it will be great. These greens are as good as any I’ve ever played on.

I purchased the hot deal for 40 bucks w Cart. Course layout is great, and in great condition for this time of year. Some greens were better than others. Sportsmans is usually out of my price range, so I only play it once or twice during peak season. Glad I went out, good pace of play, fairways and bunkers were great!

I have played at this course before and usually like it a lot but this time, the greens were awful. Very slow, bumpy and uneven. I understand, the course had just opened a few days before but seems like nothing was done as far as preparation. There was no water in the ball washers. The restrooms were closed. There was no snacks or food in the clubhouse.

This course was in great shape for our late October round. Overall a nice challenge without feeling unnecessarily complex. Traps were in decent shape and greens were excellent. Will play here again.

Spectacular course for the price. Great maintenance there, cordial staff, good food in the clubhouse, very clean pro shop and bathrooms.. Course is state of the art, challenging yet fair, and very open. If you like greenery this is the course for you. Greens roll well and fairways are pristine. Must go back. Well worth it!!

They have kept the course in relatively good condition.

The greens have a few bumps left by golfers without any etiquette. They booked us fairly close to the foursome in front of us and it took over 4 1/2 hours to complete. Holes are challenging and fairways and rough was in good condition. Sand traps were wet from rain. The concessionaire at holes 4 and 15 are rarely there and no card person this year. The waiting at every hole was a pain, but it was so gorgeous out it was palatable.

This course always charges ridicolusly high prices, and its an average muni course. I gave it a try because the prices are so high i thought it must be a great course. Big mistake, much better courses to play and for alot less money as well. Last time I will play here.

Though the staff setup the course very, very well. Firm and fast, rolled greens exceeded expectations. Easily the best value of any course I have played this season.

Has a driving range other side of parking lot.

Weather perfect( 73 with low wind, sunny), course well kept with fairways devoid of leaves. Greens fast. Enough challenges to make it interesting but not too challenging. Even the short holes have their own quirks. Yardages well marked and distances to water (17) marked as well.

Finished round in under 4 hours, walking. Will playu again.
