Slow group ahead.
There was a slow group ahead of us. Not sure what the Marshall said to them, but told us to push them. Let on 15 after 3.5 hours on the course. Will be back though to see the rest.

Played with my son form the back tees. Partnered with a couple of guys that were good golfers and nice guys.

Welcome back
Decent course with rather large greens. The greens were very bumpy and had way too many unfixed ball repairs. Very nice putting greens and chipping areas but way too many divots around chipping green.

Thankfully it was a hot deal
First time playing since the name change.
New clubhouse and all that it brings to play are terrific.
Nice bar and restaurant, good pro shop and friendly staff.
The course was not renovated as part of the new clubhouse. Additionally, the course needs some work.
Tee boxes and greens are rough in several cases.
Pace of play was ssssssllllllloooooowwwwww.
Course rangers finally got on the course on the back 9 to pro a 3-some along.
I played on a hot deal which made this acceptable.

Great Renovation
This was my second time playing this course post renovation. It's a fair course with some challenging holes. The fairways, rough, and tee boxes are all in excellent shape. The bunkers and greens need improvement, but for $70 you truly cannot complain. I'm sure the course receives a ton of play hence for the average condition of the greens, and for a public track the bunkers are what they are with minimal sand. I will be back for sure!

Good course to play
Good course to play. Tee box were destroy, it look worst than a grass range box. Fairways 8/10, sand traps 7/10 need more sand and greens 8/10

Turf just doesn’t flourish here
I have been playing this course a few times per year for 20+ years. There seems to be a fundamental issue here getting the grass to grow in. This is now two major renovations that have yielded very sparse turf grass. The rough has always been thin and spotty. After the recent renovation even the fairways are really thin. There are some collection areas adjacent to a few greens with really nice grass, so maybe it’s just not standing up to the cart traffic
The tee boxes as other reviewers have pointed out are embarrassing. The condition of the fairways does result in some tremendous role, which makes some of the very long park fours here more reachable.. Greens are the savior at Heritage Oaks. The greens are by far the most interesting feature of the course requiring strategy and precision. The greens are also in respectable shape.
The chipping, putting area and clubhouse are definitely the highlight of Heritage Oaks, so allow for some extra time to enjoy them.
