Greens
This course used to have some of the best greens in Lake county. Now they are below average. They are soft, inconsistent, there seems to be no thought in the pin placements, an may only get mowed twice a week I doubt that they change the placements more than once a week Some of the cups have grass growing into the cup. Such a shame
Hidden gem, too hidden
Great condition and fair layout. But the ability to get there is just bad. Google sends you to a gate that is locked, we found a main entrance and security grilled us as if we were aliens. Once there hunting down the pro shop and carts was hard but doable. And the refreshments were sparse at best. Basically we are outsiders at a place that was private and made to feel thatbway.
We will be back because the course and conditions were great and a good value and we will go the right way in and bring a few water bottles ourselves
Greens need help
The most important part of any cause are the greens. At LBSGC the greens are inconsistent and the pin placements are haphazard They have no greens superintendent so the greens seem to be at the low end of the priorities It could be an outstanding course, but they don't have enough help to keep it maintained the way it should be.
Greens
If they spent more time mowing the greens and took more care in placing the pins it would make a big difference in the quality of the course
Love the LBS
This place has always been a great place to play. Course is Fun and every hole is well designed Not as prestige as other courses but I have played twice in 3 hours in last month. Where can you say that. For after round drinks, you can go down to Za Za’s and sit outside with a nice cocktail
Course was in perfect condition. Don't forget to enter the course off of RT. 59.
Pace of play is the worst I have seen
No martial to endorse time of play etiquette literally a foursome took 20+ minutes to play hole number 1 could not wait anymore moved on to 2 to start play
Great course
Couse was in superb condition. Fairways cut tight. Greens in fantastic shape with a mediem fast pace. You feel like you are playing a private course with great views. You must use golf now at least a day in advance to get in. Use the gated entrance off Rt. 59. Give your name which they will verify on their list and your in.
Place needs new Management
No Restaurant No food or drinks to buy, the Rest Room was dirty and smelled. No amenities in the pro-shop. The
You can thank the cheap ownership for the poor condition of the course. The club has no pro, no superintendent and nobody who works there that knows anything about golf.
