Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club

Didn't even get to play. The course is semi-private and allows public tee times, which seems great. I email the clubhouse to put down our names for the guard house and was told we can't play due to them not allowing public tee times now, yet they are still selling them on GolfNow and their website. I was lucky and got my money back but now I've seen reviews of people that haven't. Be aware.

Enjoyed the day, and the threesome I joined up with. We moved right along throughout all 18 holes. Course in very good condition, but the traps were not yielding at all. Highly recommended.

Wasn’t even notified that public isn’t allowed at security gate until I called for verification.

I have played this course multiple times in the past through GolfNow. Why is the course advertised to the public as available when that is no longer true? Got a call the day before from Guard Shack and said my reservation had been cancelled. The explanation was a total bunch of mularkey. The course also does not call GolfNow that they have cancelled your reservation. Do not waste your time!!

Stay away they take your money and then don’t let you play. The gate attendant is a total jerk

Very unpleasant and unprofessional experience. They did not let me past the guard shack. I drove 65 min to play this course! I haven't received a refund because golfnow makes it very difficult to get one after the course did not honor the tee time the day of. There was mass confusion at the guard shack for other players also. NOT HAPPY!!

Take a chance if you'd like....

Two days before tee time they told me we could only play if we knew that lives in the community to let us in the gate. Why do they even advertise? This is the second time I was cancelled there. Simply no thank you.

The owner called Me and canceled my round because I had a hot deal and she had the chance to book a better deal the round was booked for over a day and she called an hour prior. My friends have had similar experiences

The course was fine you have to be a member to get past the front gate this should not be on golfnow

Booked this course via golf now. Re-arranged my entire day around golf with my wife, and upon our arrival we were turned away. The gate attendant couldn't have been happier to tell us that we were not allowed to enter the property to play without a member despite this course only being semi private. Ive played here before without issue without a member. I then called the clubhouse and all they offered was a credit for me to come back another day( probably just to get turned away again)

Drove 42 miles only to be denied access to the course. Horrible experience.

I booked a round through Golf Now and when I arrived to the gate of the community this course is within, they would not let me enter. They cited a lawsuit and said they are only offering reservations to members. I will never go back.

Great course . Greens are immaculate. Fairways are well kept. Most tee boxes are nice and flat. Good variety of king and short holes with some mar row and some wide open holes. Traps could see better attention. , but terrible bunkers seem to be the norm almost everywhere in the area post covid. Club house is minimalistic , not many choices on food for the turn, and I’ve never seen a cart girl in 5 rounds ( tho to be fair I am a weekday mid morning early afternoon player)

Great value for golf only , conditions and course , but not so great in the clubhouse, restaurant , snack/bar department.
