Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club

Course is nice, great condition when we played. For the price I expected to have a drinks cart, more food choices than hot dogs and chips and stale coffee. Yes, it is about the game but with all the gate hubbub and fanciness I just expected far more off the course. For the price at least.

Staff was very friendly and no complaints there.

I paid online gate guard who was a jerk wouldn’t let me. Pro shop was no help! GolfNow take this coarse off your website!

Some of these reviews have to be BS. The layout is great and the greens and fairways are well kept. Anything good to say ends there. The traps are more mud than sand, unless there has been recent rain then they are water hazards. There are no amenities to speak of. The pro shop is a poorly staffed joke, often left unstaffed. No food or beverage service, no beverage cart and often no starter. Don't be surprised if you arrive to find your tee time double booked due to the disorganized staff.

This place is a mess.

Booked and prepaid for 18 holes. Guard at gate said I had to be playing with a member. He would not allow access without filling out a membership form. At the clubhouse course representatives explained they have a lawsuit against HOA. HOA wants to return to private members only. Course owners are being squeezed out.

Make sure to contact clubhouse before booking or driving out. We finally teed off 1/2 hour late.

Booked a round as a guest, got the confirmation from the course. Drove an hour to get there. We were turned away at the gate. The attendant said they are back to private and only letting in members or residents. We called the pro shop and they said to fill out a membership form to get let through and we could play if we could find a way past the security gate, and then they promptly hung up on us. Be careful if you book a round until they sort this out. I won't be going back given the experience and the way the pro shop spoke to us.

Course was in great shape....greens are soft with all the rain we have had...but rolled true.....fairways were lush and bunkers were well maintained.

Wonderful course. Wonderful staff. No amenities but who needs them… my response before rate increase. Increased rates by 30-50%. Still a good value but with no amenities ( no drink carts, oasis open 11-2pm, no after round bar). Will come back but there has to be a breaking point somewhere.

Played in 2.5 hours at my leisure. Third time I played this course and this was the best condition it was in. I am guessing they cut fairways every other day. I caught it on a fresh cut. Greens were in great shape. Not tricky, open fairways, storable leisurely course.For the price, it’s one of the best places around in the condition I played.

It’s been a while this course got some love. Bunkers are in terrible shape! No amenities at all! Bathrooms and locker rooms haven’t been attended in years. It’s a shame little gem gone south.

Greens are very well maintained , course is in great shape. Biggest gripe is lack of amenities, snacks , food , drinks , etc.

Greens roll great but a really soft. Ball sticks on the green no matter where you fly in from leaving half

Ball sized divots to repair. Fairways are well kept. Hard to beat the conditions for the cost.
