Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club

There seems to be ongoing animosity between golf course owner and security staff. Pro shop sent our names to the gate ahead but security will not acknowledge and let us in because we are not members. Security staff became belligerent and called a police officer….Police officer when arrived told the security staff that they should let the customers in while any disagreement between his boss and golf course owners are settled. Security staff Scott became belligerent toward police officer who took down his name. Nice course for the money but will not go back until they work out this issue.

Do not book this course. Security will not allow entrance.

When we arrived at this gated community to play our pre=paid round we were not allowed entry by the guard who said they weren't honoring Golf Now tee times and suggested calling the clubhouse. I did this and got a voicemail recording. I left an urgent message which went without reply EVER. I called Golf Now customer service which said they could not cancel my reservation or process a refund wuthout talking to the course to verify the situation, which, of course, they could not do. I don't know if they will continue to pursue this or not, but I certainly hope so. I did receive some Hot Deal credits for my inconvenience and the rep was very pleasant, but unable to help.

First time playing. I understand it’s Late October but the greens were in rough shape on the front 9. However I felt the layout and greens were drastically better on the back. We had the course basically to ourselves which was great. Some of the greens were very tough. Overall great and I’ll def give it another chance mid season next year.

I really enjoyed this course rolling, scenic and challenging. Greens on front nine had just been aerated but not back nine so you could get an idea of how they would normally be. I am looking forward to going back again.

Older Asian man and woman working that day needs to work on their composure. Both were upset that my four year old was in the course, even though they knew of it and allowed for the extra rider to be paid.

There was no ranger, therefore pace was super slow.

Bunkers were not in good shape and has a lot of large rocks.

There are a lot of better courses around this area with better maintained courses and friendlier staff than this one, such as Foxford, Countryside, and even Chalet hills.

Great greens. Hold shots and putted true.

Course is fair with no "crazy" holes.

course in great shape. greens were rolling great and smooth. a refreshment cart would have been nice and there was only one area on the course that had water jug.

Many wet low spots in fairways. Maybe watering too much or too many low spots.

Greens were very good. Rolled true and approach shots stuck
