Villa Olivia Country Club

It’s not pebble beach but it played nice. Twilight rate was great and pace of play was nice. Course upkeep was an 8/10 but again I feel like I got more than I paid for.

Overall great time playing here, very interesting course, and I mean that in a good way. It doubles as a skiing facility during the winter (who skis around here?!?! Go to Breckinridge) and the course is laid out around the hills that one would ski on in the winter. You have a lot of elevation change, something we don’t get around here much. The greens were well manicured, the ranger was friendly as heck and would give us pointers on how the course plays. One knock on them… the golf carts were in a pretty sorry state. The parking brake was difficult to get to work; the cart belonging to the twosome I was paired with careened down a hill with no one in it at one point… all was fine, didn’t roll or anything, and it was hilarious, but come on.

Course was in poor condition. Fairways mowed to short. Rough is out of control long, even around the green. Grass on tee boxes was sparse. There has been some rain recently but I played a few miles away ln pristine conditions for 7 dollar's more. I suggest you find a golf course and play elsewhere.

Course is in good condition. Fairways and greens well maintained tee boxes a bit rough. The layout of the course is nice with distance between green and tee. Price is very reasonable.

For a course that’s been around as long as they have I was surprised to see how poorly it was maintained. Not the most challenging course either BUT it could have been a far better experience regardless. The fairway grad was almost as tall as a golf ball. We were SEARCHiNG for shots hit dead center and anything I’m the rough wasn’t worth even looking for. Greens weren’t consistent either. On a positive, the bunkers had nice sand and proper drainage. Also, there are some fun elevations towards the later holes. Unfortunately, I don’t see any excuse for how tall the grass was kept and do not plan to return.

Very nice course. The quality of the golf carts wasn't great with poor power of the golf carts.

Greens were great shape. Tee boxes needed work. The rough next to the fairways was way to long. If your ball went into it you could not find it. The rough needs to cut down. Most golfers miss the fairway. This long rough made the round NOT enjoyable.

Unkept greeen, tee boxes, and sand traps. Fairways that are very poorly defined. Trees that hang over fairways that likely shouldn’t be there. No GPS and carts are the worst I’ve never driven. Had a 4:15 tee time, people in front didn’t even tee off until 4:20. Course wasn’t backed up, they just seem to let whoever play whenever they want. 15 minute intervals in tee times looks great on paper, but if you don’t enforce it and pace of play what’s the point? Didn’t see one ranger. Only positive was the course staff that we did interact with. Clubhouse and cart guy were super nice and pleasant, that’s the only reason I didn’t put 1 star. Overall, avoid the course, not worth the money, you can find so much better for the same price, or even a lower price. Worst kept course I have played in a long time.

I've been playing this course for years and it seems like it's slowly getting better there is definitely room for improvement but for the price you can't beat it around here

This is the first time I've played the course in 20+ years. The course definitely needs some sprucing up, it is kind of aged and raggedy looking. Fun to play and compared with the course in general, the greens were surprisingly nice and in decent shape.

The course was much nicer back in the day before the park district took it over, its a shame that they don't put more effort in to maintaining the course, it could be so much nicer.

This is the worst groomer course in all of DuPage County

For the last 2 years the reviews were really bad for Villa Olivia. I never would have ever gone here based on those reviews. But in the last few months the reviews started to say things were getting better at VO. So I booked a foursome on a chance last Sunday and it was the best golf experience in the area I’ve ever had. Front nine are more in line with the area, but the back nine are centered around a ski area. The back nine is like playing in norther Michigan ski/golf clubs.

Really one of a kind for the Chicago area.

They do have great cart service on the course and plenty of bathrooms stationed on the course. Only drawback is the halfway house is closed and that’s a drag when you can’t get something to eat. Needless the greens are perfect and the course is amazingly designed. Staff is really nice too!
