Another great round
My wife and I love going to Walnut Hills for a nice nine hole round. The par 3 course lets me work on my short game, while a nice course for my beginner golfer wife to enjoy.
We get around in less than 2hrs typically with great course conditions. The wet weather we’ve had recently didn’t hinder our play as the Schaumburg Park District does a great job maintaining and managing this facility.
Just a great place for a quick nine!
My wife, who is taking up golf, and I love to play here! It’s a great walk and a fun course to work on your short game - or - start playing golf.
It’s well maintained and staffed and offers a fun 1.5-2 hrs. Give it a try!
Another great round at a gem of a par 3 course!
This is a great course for a quick nine! My wife and I had a great time in under 90 minutes. This is a very well maintained and staffed muni course!
Always a great place to work on short game!
When I don’t have a lot of time and want to work on my short game, this place is the best in this area!
Always a great place to play a quick nine and work on short game!
My first round of the year. Wanted to knock rust off and range in my new irons. Walnut Greens is an outstanding venue. Well run and maintained. The pro shop person even remembered me after an eight-month absence! Highly recommend - just leave me a tee time!
Good, Challening Par 3
Course layout forces you to be accurate when teeing off d/t water hazards and/or bunkers which makes the course challenging. Wish there was a couple more holes that were >150 yards. Solid course.
Good, Challenging Par 3
Good challenge w/ most holes, whether it be water hazard or strategically placed bunkers. Wish there was another hole or two that was >150 yards. Greens were OK.
Still a great way for a quick Nine!
Great value for a quick nine! Well maintained, friendly staff. Definitely a favorite. Check it out!
First time
This is a great little par 3 course had a great time my 1st time there did pretty well the staff is very friendly pace of play was great no problems very inexpensive but great place to play
Great little course that’s nearby
This course is a go to when I have time for a quick nine. Check it out if you’re in the area.
Great Nine Hole Course in the Chicago NW Burbs!
Want to play golf in the NW Chicagoland area, but have little time? Check out Walnut Greens. It’s a nice “chip & put course” that lets you work on your short to mid irons and putting. It’s well maintained, with a friendly staff.
Good value but watch out for the mess.
This course is a good value for the money, I was able to play for $5. I walked and had my own pull cart, so for less than the cost of a couple golf balls I got to enjoy a beautiful golfing stroll through the park. The number one problem with this course is the goose droppings everywhere. Other than that its a nice short course that can help you get over your fear of the water hazard. If you are a hacker like me, be sure to bring a bunch of throwaway golf balls for the first half of the course. Other than the geese-dookie it was a fun round to work on my short game. The greens were pretty nice and very readable. I had a handful single putts from about 10 to 15 feet so that was nice.
Poop
I know it's not the courses fault but I have never seen so much goose poop in one location in my entire life. I will admit I'm not familiar with the migration habits of these birds so it could just be the time of year but the amount of poop was remarkable. Otherwise it would be a fun little par three course.

Great little Pat 3
This was the first time I played this course. I took my 8 ur old grandson, it was his first round on a real golf course.
This course is perfect for new golfers ( kids or adults) or if you want to work on your short game. There is water and traps which all come into play! Greens were slow but rolled pretty true. Will definitely come back to play it. Don't expect to play too quick as it is short and you have to wait for group ahead to leave the green. Expect to find kids and beginners ! Loved the course.
