Slow pace of play on the back
Played the front in 2 hours. Back took 2:45. It may have helped to have ranger push a bit. We did see rangers all day who were friendly
Bad experience
This course makes you feel so good on the front nine. The pace? fantastic. The condition? Great. The moment you make the turn, the pace slows to a halt, the difficulty rises exponentially. We went from a sub 2 hour round on the front to an almost 3 hour back 9. This is unacceptable. They either need to fix the course layout on the back or have a ranger patrol the back 9. I will not be playing here again.

Friendly staff challenging course good conditions pace of player was excellent. Ranger drove around, keeping up the pace of play.

ok course to play for value. very disappointed that ranger knew group in front was playing very slow and never said a word to them.
Great pace of play
Usually come here for after-work rounds during the weekday, first time playing on the weekend as we were very happy to finish in around 4:15, great time for this area on a weekend.
First time, would play again
RTJ Sr design with water in play on many holes but still quite playable. Course knowledge would help with strategy. The course would benefit from another set of tees, since there’s currently 6400 from blue tips and then 5900 white. Course is overall in good condition, but bunkers have just a thin layer of sand over hard dirt. Pace was ok until slowing down badly on last few holes.
Fun, challenging Hoffman Estates Course
This was my first time playing the course. I found it well kept, it had solid layout design with lots of challenges built in, and it ended up being a very enjoyable/comfortable round of golf. I will play the course again.
Challenging
First time at Hilldale. It was absolutely worth it. Very challenging course with water everywhere. Course management is essential. The greens were fast that day. I walked with a push cart and probably wouldn’t do that again. A lot of little hills and inclines. Course was very well kept. Had to pull out driver just about every whole Definitely will be back.
