Fun, Target Golf
Always enjoy playing here. Layout is fun and greens were in nice shape for early in this wet spring season. Pace can be slower during peak times, but it has always moved along well when I have visited on weekdays. Renovations are being completed on the clubhouse which include the addition of indoor simulators. Excited to see how it turns out when completed.

A good challenging course that is always well kept. Have a great grill when it’s open as well

Nice layout, friendly staff
First time playing the course. Course conditions were just OK since it's the start of the season and course received heavy rains the previous day. It was cart path only and contributed to SLOW play. We were backed up after the first hole. Conditions would greatly improve if other golfers bothered to rake the bunkers and fix their divots and ball marks. Worth giving it another try. Very friendly staff and new improvements coming to the clubhouse.

Fun course but wet
Course was challenging but fun. It was pretty wet from rain the day before. Balls would plug completely in the fairway off the tee. Good amount of sand trap ponds too. On a dry day it would be a great course.

Needs improvement
Good layout of the course.
Neglected but some improvements are noticeable as new repaired bridges and send bunkers.

Greens great for this time of year. Like lay out. Course was wet due to all the rain.

Nicely maintained; lots of water
I've always enjoyed Arboretum. One of the better tracks. Probably should wait a couple of weeks as it's wetter than I expected. Greens were fair. Would like to see them put rakes out for the traps, though it's still March in Chicago.

Winter conditions
Nice day out but still winter conditions: wet fairways, snow in bunkers, bumpy and uneven greens. Overall fun to get out so early in the season.

Great to play in December….
It’s nice to play golf in December. Course was in decent shape. Pace of play was horrible though. We had to wait on every single shot. It took 2 1/2 hours to play the front. We gave up on the back because of this. I noticed a bunch of people wearing blue jeans on the course…that should have told me something. Nice guy in the pro shop.

Slow
I know it was a rare December round, which is why it was likely overbooked. Waiting for several minutes on every shot was not Ideal. We finally gave up when we got to #13 as there were 4 groups on the tee waiting. to play.

Arboretum challenges
This is a challenging course not for those who get frustrated easily by hazards and lost balls. We were only able to play 10 holes due to weather. When we returned we were told no rain check because we had played the 10th hole. We were also told we could stay out and “play at our own risk” a first for me. Staff on the course and check in were great. The guy who was telling everyone no rain checks was gruff and even yelled at a group of women that inquired. Did not leave me with a feeling of wanting to go back to this course.

Don’t waste your time.
Course conditions
The course was way over saturated and in terrible shape. Bunkers were lakes and fairways soggy. Tee boxes were destroyed and not flat.
Pace of play
I had a 3pm tee time. Wasn’t given a cart until 3:15 due to shortage?. Paired up at hole 1 until other golfer gave up at hole 4 and I played the rest solo. By the rest I mean by 5:30 I reached hole 6. The pace of play is The worst I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t just one group it was 4 waiting per hole. The starter didn’t care and there wasn’t a ranger.
Layout
This is a tight course with lots of water, again I only got 6 holes in for the 18 hole price.
I figured a 3pm tee time this late in the season i might get 12 holes in if it’s slow but 6! Don’t waste your time of money here unless you have 7 hours to play 18. Bring rain boots even if it hasn’t rained all day. My cart did not have a functional parking break so it rolled away if I was on a hill. The guy in the pro shop was nice enough but not very informative.
