Beautiful Course
I always enjoy playing this course. The layout makes you play position golf. The greens were true, but a little dried out. Got a couple of big bounces with the approach shots. Still, it was a great day on a beautiful course.
Good Value on Golf Now deal
11:27 tee time
Didn't see 1 ranger on the course to speed up play
5 hour round but other than that it was a great day
First time golf experience in U S
Brought a friend from Phil...first time he played in a U S g/c ..and very much satisfied and enjoyed his experience . Quite disappointed that he didn't play well , but promised he'll be back one day and play such course better ? -:)....
Fun Course
Fun course. Target golf. If you hit your driver over 250 yards you can probably just leave it home. I used mine once on the back nine par 5. No driving range just a net. Practice green is nice.
Not bad if you like a sloppy slow 5+ hour round
Yes I know it is early spring and there could still be snow on the ground but this course is a mess. Cart paths only because it is a swamp in the fairways. Worst greens i have seen or played in the Chicago area. But even that was okay and I could have looked past it if not for the pace of play.
It took us 5 1/2 hours to play. There was a tiresome in front of us drinking heavily and taking forever. We mentioned it to the starter at 9 that they were 2 holes behind and terrible, losing multiple balls each hole and marking and lining up every putt. He did say something once and gave us a bla bla bla excuse that they would speed up, heavens they got slower and we generally had 3 groups waiting on each tee on the back 9 waiting.
I am not from the area but do know there are a lot more options that this place next time I am in the area.
Water with some fairways in between. Good pace of play.
This course requires you to be fairly accurate on a lot of holes. There isn't much variation in the design. Water on the right on 14 holes. Don't slice. I'm not a big fan of target golf because it doesn't allow for as much creativity I think. "5 wood, 7 iron, wedge. blegh." They do a good job of spacing people out though so we played in about 4 hours. Course was in average shape. Nobody who plays here repairs divots though.
The G.C. well take care.
very enjoy playing because it is well take care golf course.
Excellent round of golf
Fall golf is excellent at The Arboretum. The greens were rolling beautifully.
Very nice course
Always wanted to play this course but usually pricey. Bought on line. Worth every penny! I highly recommend this course.
Nice course
The course is nice. It was first time we play on this course. And we got it through Hot time deal. Therefore, we were treated little negative. We felt we were treated like cheap. I wasn't sure if I wanted to come back there.
Will Definitely Be Going Back
Beautiful course and very well maintained. Well worth the price. Although can't comment on the pace of play, we were the only two on the course as it has stormed in the early morning scaring off anyone else from playing for several hours.
Challenging course
The course is beautiful, but the greens were its downfall, burned out and not good. I enjoyed the challenge off the greens but once I stepped onto the greens it was awful. Maybe it's just the end of the season but it didn't seem like they were watered enough. Fun and challenging though minus the putting greens.
Nice Course
Nice Fairways. Lots of doglegs.
Awsome!
Very challenging course..
A beautiful day in the neighborhood
Arboretum is challenging and not recommended for the beginner. Built amongst two different residential communities, the fairways are tight, most greens are small and uniquely shaped which offers more challenge. Add in water on 6 of the front nine holes, you'll think twice about pulling out your Driver and more about strategic course management.
Personally, the back 9 is my favorite as it a lot wider and more beautiful with huge hills, shared greens on the 12th and 14th holes.
Clubhouse is REALLY nice for a public course and the food is top shelf (although i didn't get to have my Char-dog at the turn because of the Club CHampionship tournament.
love the course
great design with narrow fairways but very hilly for North chicago
WOW, I played the same day and thought the greens were in FANTASTIC shape!
