Buffalo Grove Golf Course
About
Buffalo Grove Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal course that offers an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. The gently rolling terrain is covered with mature trees and wetlands, all of which provide challenges on the course. In addition to the natural hazards, there are a few strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Accuracy will be helpful when maneuvering the tree-lined fairways but it's not a terribly punishing golf course. There are a few tricky spots, but overall it's a forgiving and player-friendly layout. It's ideal for beginners and also good for a quick and casual round for any skill level. The golf course's affordability is another appealing aspect of the course. Buffalo Grove G.C. also offers a practice facility with a 25-station driving range and pitching and chipping greens.

Fun but fairways under repair
Staff greens, tee boxes, all good. Some fairways under repair.
Solid
Had a great time at the course. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had some issues with grubs/reseeding therefore needed to rope off some areas but handled the situation perfectly and didn't take away from the game at all. They work hard on keeping things up and the greens were fantastic. Great course.
Worst course I’ve ever played
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Being in Buffalo Grove I figured it would be a nice course, boy was I wrong. Go to check in at the pro shop, they mention that a few of the holes had some damage from a skunk problem. It was the ENTIRE Course!!!! They should be ashamed of charging money to play here.
Average Suburban Golf Course
This was my first round at this particular course and all things considered, it was just average. The course design was pretty straight forward but it added a few curve balls in there, lots of dog legs, and some decent water hazards. The pace of play was very slow. Additionally, the greens on the back nine were not in good condition and it made putting basically a guessing game. I did not mind the course, but I won't be in a hurry to play it again.
Course was in good condition except for a few sand traps that had water. Tee boxes that were under repair were completed. A few leaves on a few greens but nothing too serious. Pace was good. It took us just under four hours to complete our round.
Typical Muni
We finished in under 4 hours with waiting on only a few holes on the front, course cleared up on the back. Greens were smooth and ran well with a good amount of grain. Greens were soft. Tee boxes were flat. Rough had some dry spots. Fairways were getting ripped up for new grass.
Layout was uninspiring - flat course. The biggest challenge was having to carry bunkers that were positioned ~250 in the fairway, or being able to punch out from under a tree and get up and down for par. Shot one of my lowest rounds here.
Carts were bare bones - no coolers, no divot mix, no GPS. Tee times were every 9 minutes. There was a range which ran adjacent to 10 and 18 with no netting, but the course did a decent job of (1) using different colored balls for the range and (2) getting balls off the holes and back to the range.
