Buffalo Grove Golf Course
About
Buffalo Grove Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal course that offers an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. The gently rolling terrain is covered with mature trees and wetlands, all of which provide challenges on the course. In addition to the natural hazards, there are a few strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Accuracy will be helpful when maneuvering the tree-lined fairways but it's not a terribly punishing golf course. There are a few tricky spots, but overall it's a forgiving and player-friendly layout. It's ideal for beginners and also good for a quick and casual round for any skill level. The golf course's affordability is another appealing aspect of the course. Buffalo Grove G.C. also offers a practice facility with a 25-station driving range and pitching and chipping greens.

Great day out on the old golf course
Sal and Tony’s is outstanding for food. If not for less than stellar golfing performance, the day would have been perfect. Beautiful setting and great weather. Eggplant Parmesan for the 19th hole.
Nice course. Play there a lot. Will continue to do so.
Great Course! Highly Recommend!
Played this course twice this weekend. The condition was great, staff was friendly, and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend playing here. Great practice amenities too. Good value, and I will be back!
Course was in good shape. Good pace of play. Fair layout for my ability.
A few changes for a big improvement
The restaurant needs to have dogs and brats totally ready to go. Waiting slows down play.
The beverage cart leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like a beat up old greenskeeper cart. It also needs a better assortment.
Excellent Muni Ciurse
For a muni course this course is in great shape. The staff is wonderful. My only complaint is with regard the the sand traps. They need MORE SAND. All too often you are hitting out of “concrete” sand traps.
Thank you Rangers
Overall I really like this course and have played it a lot. One negative for me has always been slower play with rangers not really moving things. This day was different. A foursome who thought it would be a smart idea to give lessons every swing eventually has almost a 2 hole gap in front of them even after being talked to. Rangers then moved groups in front of them. Pace was fine after that. Really nice to see
Better for men than women
Long distances to the fairway. Carts are difficult to drive. Ankle sore from trying to push down accelerator. On the plus side the course was in good shape and had nice flowers.
Ranger Danger
Was playing with a 4 some. Ranger came up to us giving us grief because we were a hole and a half behind the group in front of us. THE TWO SOME in front of us. Our FOUR SOME WASNT KEEPING UP WITH A TWO SOME and he said he’s only going to ask “nicely once”. He then proceeded to ask me why me why we had 3 carts. I explained how we were all strangers, got there at different times, and got paired up to play together. He said “doesn’t matter. Unacceptable.” Told him our pace (3:45/4) was fine and if he had a problem with the carts he could take it up with the pro shop and the starter. The Irish/Scottish ranger fellow isn’t doing your course any favors. Won’t be back.
Ranger can cool it.
Course was in decent shape. Price is ok for what it is. Here’s the problem. Problem is I played with a 4 some and A 2 some was in front of us. Big deal. Group behind us was usually on the green as the same time we were on the green. No back up. Next thing I know the ranger is busting our chops telling us to speed it up. (3:45-4 hour pace with 4 people) telling us there’s a hole and a half gap. THERES A TWO SOME IN FRONT OF OUR FOUR SOME. I sure hope they’re ahead of us. THEN he starts giving us grief asking why we had 3 carts. None of us knew each other! We got there at different times. But no, he wasn’t having it. Told us he didn’t care and it was ridiculous we had 3 carts. I told him I’d never heard of someone being so unaware of what was going on on their own course being a ranger. Old gentlemen with the Irish/Scottish accent can take a hike. Not helping your course. Won’t be back.
Good Course
Course was in great shape. Pace was very good..Greens were in good condition and fast. We enjoyed the round very much. Too bad the restaurant did not open until late afternoon on Mondays. Our round was at 10:30am.
A quick 9 holes
I just recently played 9 holes at BG golf course. The course was in fairly good shape despite the lack of rain. Since I played only 9, I opted to walk. It was very manageable. One thing I would recommend for the future. The golf course should invest in electric golf carts that include GPS. It would make things easier to navigate along with having exact yardage to the green.
Other than that, being a BG resident playing this course provides a good value.
