Much improved!
Played this course a lot growing up because it was the cheapest option around. Now, it’s not only a cheaper option but the course has really improved! We’ll cut and maintained. Great job!
Possibly better than ever
Grew up on south side. Played Burnam Woods as a kid and high schooler 45 years ago. Another friend and I went back to play Burnam and George Dunne. Both courses were in great shape. Burnam has very small greens, but they were fast and true. Tee boxes and fairways were cut well and played quick. We had an 8:20 tee time and were one of the first groups off. Played in 2 hours and 50 minutes.
This is one of the original Forest Preserve courses. No bells and whistles but 18 tree lined holes of golf with small greens. If you’re learning or teaching someone to golf, this is a great place to start. Workers were all working hard and very friendly. It was good to see they have taken good care of an old friend!
This course needs lots of attention.
I live in the neighborhood & been coming here for the last 15 years & never have I seen it this bad! Course has overgrown grass & clippings everywhere, overgrown tree brush, bad dips throughout course.
There's is so much POTENTIAL at this course with simple TLC.
It definitely is not worth the $35 golf fee Forest preserve is charging. I guarantee you a little TLC goes long way for more customers to spread the word & come back.
Much better then last year
Course was in much better shape then past years. Enjoyed the clean lies in the fairways.

Golf course was in great shape so early in the season. Kudos to the GM and staff!
Need some help
Fairways like fields, I play other forest preserve courses and I wouldn’t go back to this one.
Burnham Woods
The course is in the need of some TLC
Most of the tees were moved up and the course played short. The rough is thick and losing balls is a problem if not in the short grass. Played with family and it was a good day to play.
A bad day
There were 4 groups of us in the course all jumbled together on the course on 4 consecutive holes. Front 9 took 2.5 hours. Guys in front of us had no business hitting from the blues. When I asked the ranger if we could play the front nine again to increase pace of play he said the course was wide open. Fairways were more like rough. Rough was thick. This course has potential but needs better staff.
