Cary Country Club

this is by far a professional PGA course, and yet casual players are rushed through and the purpose of the day gets ruined. I am not the best golfer in the world by any stretch of the means, but if I'm playing, and "keeping pace", then no one should be catching up to me to the point I almost get hit by a ball. my friend and I were paired up with 2 others, and the group behind was just 2 players. naturally the 2some would be much quicker, yet we were told that we were not "keeping pace". we were rushed to the point that the father son pair we got put with decided to not play the back 9. I say max time to complete 18 holes for 4 players is 3hrs 30 min.

we teed off at 11:45 am and were on the 8th hole by 1pm when we were told to go faster...will not be returning.

Not sure the date but October or November. Nice place to play. It’s a little slow because it’s inexpensive but usually we don’t care. The clubhouse is in need of a tear down and rebuild but that too doesn’t really matter because it’s about the golf. The course has a lot of elevation changes with high tee boxes and elevated greens making those challenging. The cart paths too could use some repairs and they do flood on one side. The grounds are kept up well. For the money it’s all good.

I have been playing Cary Country Club for the past 30+ years and I still find it very challenging and enjoyable. The greens are normally fast and not easy to read, the fairways are more narrow than wide and the distance from tee to green is perfect. I really love this course, the friendly staff, knowledgeable and very friendly people in the pro shop, very friendly staff in bar, good selection of beer and alcohol and excellent food.

Even though, it was cold I wanted to get in one more round of golf. It was nice because I was 1 of about 8 people playing the course today. I did not felt rushed at all. I really enjoyed my time. Cary Country Club, is my top course to play. I cannot wait to play in 2021.

Avoid this course at all costs Poorly maintained, poorly managed. If you don’t have anything to do for 5 or 6 hours then this is the course for you. Pack a lunch if you decide to go.

This is an interesting course with a nice variety of holes and some pretty tough greens. The fairways are in decent condition and the greens are in fair condition. Cart paths are practically unpaved with plenty of holes and bumps. Employees were fairly unpleasant. Still, all in all, a very good value for the cost and worth the trip. The bar would be okay during non-Covid times.

A long way from the city. The ground was very hard in some places, especially around the greens. Traps were flat and solid, more of a sandy rough than an actual trap in several cases.

A lot of elevation changes makes for an interesting challenge but the course isn’t terribly long so there are quite a few scorable holes if you hit it straight. Unfortunately I was all over the place that day.

The par 3’s are fun because of the elevation again and if you have some wind, you can get some video game style challenges.

All in all, solid course. I chose it because I was in the area. A little pricey and for someone living in the city, I wouldn’t play again unless I found myself out that way.

Scenic views are in abundance at this wonderful location. Elevated tees and mature trees are very popular as you traverse this fine layout. Staff is friendly and helpful to make this place a fun affordable day. I drive 50 minutes to play and have yet to be disappointed.

This course could have been a great one. But the layout and lacking of signs made it extremely confusing. I’ve never played a course that I had to ask where the next tee box was. But here I had to do it a couple of times. Not to mention the borderline head on we where almost in because they had a single trail up to a tee box around a blind corner. One of the fairways was all standing water in a fairway when we haven’t had significant rain in weeks. Just overly not impressed and disappointed for the price we paid.
