Gorgeous View on the Second Tee Box Photo submitted by JBlissed on 06/25/2018
This course is poorly maintained.
I couldn't stand how bad this course is maintained. It looks nice from a far, but the rough is long everywhere, there are so many bumps when riding the cart no matter where you go you are bouncing and my clubs are almost falling off the cart, very slow pace of play, no driving range, course is cheap and if you like cheap play here.
Great course
I always like to play CC because its a great course that is not too difficult to play and the condition of the course is always well maintained. The front 9 is pretty straight forward but the back 9 is a bit more tricky as youre hitting through more woods. Overall I enjoy myself everytime I'm out here.
Happy to hear you enjoy playing Cary CC regularly! We can't wait to see you again.
Definitely needs a renovation
Cart paths are a joke! The greens are tough to look at it is early may but rough conditions all in all course didnt impress me not much water and not really a challenging course.
Thank you for playing at Cary Country Club, we regret to hear the course conditions did not meet your expectations this early in the season. We are working towards the best Cary CC possible, come back and see us!
What you see is what you get.
I play Cary CC multiple times every year. The course is always in good shape. I've never had any complaints about the conditions of the greens, tee boxes, or fairways. Every once in a while, the rough can get pretty long, but I guess that is why you have to keep the ball in the "short stuff."
Cary CC is an "old school" course where almost all of the holes are pretty straight forward with no hidden surprises. When standing on every tee box (except holes 8 and 15), you can see everything laid out in front of you. The biggest challenge on this course is the elevation changes. The 5th hole and 11th holes are blind shots into the green because of how elevated the green is. Besides being a sharp dog-leg left, the 15th hole is also tricky because it also has a slightly elevated green that slopes sharply from back to front. DO NOT end up above the hole on the 15th.
Cary CC is not a "tricky" course. It is not necessarily a course you have to think your way around (you can hit driver off the tee on almost every non-par 3 hole). You can slice or hook your ball all day and be relatively fine. It is not a long course by any means. It is a course that I come to when I am looking for an enjoyable round with a friend or two and I know I will be able to score well with multiple birdie chances.
Overall, you get what you pay for and what you see is what you get. On many days you can't beat their rates. There is no range to warm up on. They have a hitting bay with a net that you can hit into to warm up. The carts don't have GPS on them. I've never seen a beverage cart on the course. The pro shop is adequate. These things don't matter to me, but they may to others. The bottom line for me is that the course is always a good play and I will always recommend it to other golfers regardless of skill level.
Thanks so much for playing at Cary Country Club! We appreciate the detail in your feedback, very useful for new golfers at this course. We hope to see you again soon!
Great course for the money
Cary CC is an old-school, simple, short layout. As long as you know that going in, you won't have any issue. The course is fair throughout and rewards good shots. There were a few pin placements that were a bit ridiculous, but other than that, no complaints. For the price ($25 on a weekend), how can you go wrong?
Also, stop in the bar afterwards. It's really nice inside, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Although the weather wasn't conducive to sitting outside, they have a huge deck overlooking the 10th tee that looks nice as well. The course is worth a visit.
Thank you so much for coming out to play and providing you feedback! We hope to see you back again soon!
greens in excellent condition
A fairly easy course, perfect for early season warm up. The greens were quick and, for this time of year, in great shape.
So glad you loved the greens and course conditions at Cary Country Club! We hope to see you real soon.
Great Course - Great People
I was amazed by this course especially since it is early in the season. You can tell how hard the staff works on this course. The pro shop staff was friendly and the hot dogs at the turn were excellent. Greens and fairways were excellent. There are a couple of goofy holes so if first time playing keep an eye on the scorecard for course layout.
Thank you so much for noticing all our improvements at Cary Country Club! We are glad to hear you loved the course and the staff made your experience that much more enjoyable. Come back and see us!
fun tract
have been playing this course several times a year for the past 40 years--it was a bit short "in the day" but lots of elevation changes still made it fun.
staff has changed over the years but the current staff is very friendly and accommodating
we did a golf now "deal" so we paid virtually nothing.
we will play this course more often in the future..
Thank you for your great review and continued patronage! We look forward to seeing you back for many more rounds!
price dictates pace
play was unusually slow. we followed a 3 some that were ridiculously slow. they were always waiting for the group ahead to clear, even though there was no chance of hitting into them. also ignorant of the game of golf in general. one of them told us he has been playing for 30 years and he knows the game. uh-huh, as he says in his blue jeans and t-shirt. the dress policy clearly states NO denim and collared shirts required. ya' get all kinds when the price is so low but in all fairness, Cary Country Club is one of my favorite "near home" courses. very generous fairways. well kept and just all around fun. unless you get behind the chooches we had the unfortunate pleasure of following.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear Cary is one of your favorite local golf destinations, and we look forward to seeing you back for many more rounds!
A character builder
Was in great shape & the hilly terrain provides great character. Greens were fast but fair. Played with a couple of wonderful companions.
Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear you had an enjoyable experience with wonderful company at Cary Country Club, and we hope to see you all back for another tee time soon!
right for the price
It seemed like our own course. Playing after the rain cleared out. At ccc theres no cart path only rule here and fkr my achy bones thays perfect when a big rain moves through and other courses have cart path only. Its not long , but you still have to hit golf shots to score. A great deal anytime on golf now hot deals.
Thank you for your nice review! We are glad you stuck the rain out and enjoyed a great round and further that you were able to comfortably navigate the course. We hope to see you back for another tee time soon!
The Triple C Is Just Fun To Play
I've enjoyed playing this course since I was in high school. It's a sporty little course that's in good shape for the fees. The course is shorter and has a couple of short (#2 & #3) and quirky (#8 & #15) holes but the elevation changes and greens will test your short game. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. If you make the trip be sure to take in the views too. #9 tee with the autumn colors is one of the best in the area.
Thank you for your great and detailed review! We are proud to hear you have made Cary Country Club a repeat destination for golf and we look forward to seeing you back for many more tee times!
82 best score of 2015
I'm happy I scored 82 today! My lifetime goal in golf is to score 79 or better...oh so close today but it feels good.
Congratulations on getting one step closer to your goal! Let us know when you get there!
Cary Course
I could deal with the weed and feed on the fairway, I can deal with some of the greens not mowed and slow, but can't deal with roughs that are not mowed to the point of loosing bright orange golf balls. Not conducive to a fair round of golf.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate you providing your feedback on the conditions and we will address at the course. We hope to see you back for another round soon!
First and the last time
With all the nice public courses out there these days, why would anybody play this Mickey Mouse course? First off, it's a boring course that doesn't offer much of a challenge. I wasn't even hitting the ball up to snuff and I still shot a 77. But what mostly left a bad taste in my mouth is the fact that the tee boxes and fairways are in serious need of a lawnmower. They are both shaggier than all heck. They also need to do something about those 1980s golf carts. Not that they are cranking out the rounds to where they can afford to update their carts. With Chalet Hills and Foxford Hills located in the same suburb, I wouldn't waste my time playing this course again when I want to head to that area to play golf.
Thank you for your review. We did have lot of rain around the same time as you played, so perhaps the grass was a bit longer than you would have preferred. We do take your feedback very seriously as we consider it as an opportunity for improvement. We hope to see you back for another round!
Really like this course
For a shorter course, this is really fun to play. The elevation changes and the layout are interesting and they make you think before pulling a club out of the bag. It plays longer than the stated yardage. The course was in nice condition and the greens were pretty fast. I just wish people would fix their pitch marks. Not just here, but everywhere. I played pretty well and shot a 76, and considering it was near 90* and very humid, I was happy with that.
Thank you for you great review! We look forward to your next tee time with us!
Cary CC
friendly staff, pace of play good
Good on course conditions
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you back for another round soon!
Fair
Many up and down hill. Good values for the money. Not crowded.
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you for another round soon!
Way too much for online booking fees
Enjoyed my round. Course in good condition and staff very friendly. My problem is with golf advisor booking fees. I can't understand why it cost almost 11 bucks just to book the tee time. I think the cost has surpassed the value
Thank you for your review! There is a $2.49 transaction fee (GolfNow.com only, not our website) plus 5% of the greens fee are due upfront. The remaining 95% will be due at the course. We apologize for this inconvenience but hope you found one of our great deals we offer online only to offset it.
Grear views.
Course has great elevation changs, some very nice views, some slippery greens, challenging part 3,s
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you back for another round soon!
