Close to Chicago. Cheap. No par 5s

If you live in the city and want to get a quick, cheap round in this is a good option. I paid 25 with cart you can practice your short game and on some holes driver.

if you wants to play blues you hit from a tee mat. Whites are grass.

The greens are big and forgiving. The fairways are wide. Not a lot of trees.

This is a park course so don’t expect a beverage cart or amenities you see on public courses but again for the price difference and location to city dwellers I’m fine losing some amenities.

Purgatory

The purgatory of golf courses. Teeboxes are crusty mats on asphalt. No par 5s, no bunkers.

Worst golf experience ever.

I’m not one to write reviews, but there is some things I wish I knew before golfing here that I will share now. Firstly, this is a Chicago Forest Preserve golf course, so I wasn’t expecting much . With that said, this may be one of the worst condition golf course in the Chicago area. It’s one of those courses where there is no indistinguishable difference between the rough and the “fairway”. The “fairway” is actually more dirt than it is grass. The hard, dry, thirsty dirt fairways are as hard as a rock. Oh, there’s also only one grass tee box. One of the only courses I know of that still uses matt teeboxes. Bad sign. All other chicago forest preserve courses removed those over a decade ago. Ok, so course quality is abysmal. The course DESIGN is also atrocious. Firstly, once you tee off on 1, you are not seeing the clubhouse again until you get to hole 18. To be clear, you do not have ANY chance to go to the clubhouse after teeing off of hole 1. There’s no water stations, beverage cart, halfway houses..etc. We walked the course on this hot Friday afternoon and actually had to hop the fence on 13 to go to a McDonalds to get drinks because we were getting so dehydrated. We called the clubhouse and offered a tip to deliver us drinks but of course to no avail. Basically, if it’s a hot day and you’re walking, you will most likely run out of water and become very miserable from the dehydration. The teeboxes and holes are setup in the worst possible way, always hitting into or near a Different holes fairway. To paint this picture, there are even some holes that share the same fairway.. I’ll let you wrap your head around that one. It’s just not right. Wouldn’t even recommend this place to beginner golfers even with how easy it is because of this reason. The only nice thing I could say about this course is the greens were in relatively good shape in comparison with the rest of this joke of a golf course. If they put half as much effort into anything else about this course, it might be a decent track.

Not really worth the price, but close to the city

I'd pay $25 with cart for this course. Really short with only one tee box and a mat with very few tees (if you want to play from the "tips"). Pace of play was great at 2.5-3 hours. No practice greens or anything like that. Just a big "eh."

This course is good for beginners.

The course is small. It has no par 5s, sand traps, or water hazards. Makes for a fast round that is good for beginners.

Good course for the price

Good course, the black tee's are all matted with cement around them. It seems like wasted space, we typically tee'd off behind them if there was room since the course is short. Mosty holes are between 200-275, the longest whole was 319 if I remember correctly, took us 3.5 hours to play we had two walking and two on pull carts.

Disappointing

HOLE 13 was under construction and we didn't get a warning. The pace was really rushed despite completing 9 hole in less than 2 hours.

Ok course

the course was OK but hole 13 was completely botched (tree work) and there was no notice. We also felt VERY rushed, even with a pace of 2 hours at hole 12!!

Layout was also weird and hard to follow...

There were also mats at some tee-offs which was off'-pudding since I didn't want a driving range.

Rough shape

Course was flooded, greens punched, slow play and worse layout then I remembered. It was cheap but a lot of hackers. Not worth it for any serious golfers

Horrible

Showed up 30 minutes early. There were 9 foursomes waiting to get off. They completely overbooked. Contacted Golfnow for a refund. Apparently Cook County golf courses are ran like every other county entity ... just terrible.... never again
