Worth the cost of the green fee.
Good value, coarse needs a lot of work on the greens.
Hope it improves for the summer. Great value.
Nice Course
The course was good. I believe my experience would have been much better if the tee areas and greens were in much better shape. The greens were the worst I played on this year. Some of the tee areas had no grass.
Looking kind of neglected
Green conditions were terrible. Hasnt been mowed in weeks(although it has been pretty rainy. Just disappointed. Used to be in such great shape!!
The course was terrible
The course was terrible. I should have known something when I saw a big sign that said no refund as a matter fact no charge should have been assessed anybody who endured the terrible conditions at this golf course I would not recommend this course to anyone .
The fairway grass was as long as United States open rough every shot there was grass behind your ball I lost four balls in the middle of the fairway not only should they not have charged they should've paid people to play on Sunday, August 21, 2016
putting green maintenance
I love everything about Tuckaway EXCEPT the condition of the putting greens. Management needs to work on improving the greens!
Tucks way
Fun hilly golf course ! Hot hot day but staff went out their way to make it fun
Great Challenge
Great challenge with the table top greens. If you don't hit the ball just right on the greens they roll off.
Great spot
Off the beaten Track. one of the nicer courses around here.
Good course to improve your game
Small greens, a couple of blind holes, and many dog legs on a very hilly layout. I found this course challenging at first, but adjusted and pared a few holes. A couple greens were in need of some attention, but for the most part an enjoyable round. Great for the $$
Greens!
The greens were terribly but the course layout was nice
Greens are bad
Greens are in bad shape and course was very brown
Terrible
They really let this course get run down. It used to be a great place to play. Fairways were rock hard! Greens were spotty and also hard.
I used to play here and love this place last year but what a deference a year makes!!
Will not return again for w while!
A Fun Course!
Tuckaway has a very friendly, comfortable feel to it. Your first impression could fool you. It's not the nicest, highest class course you'll ever golf, it's actually pretty rough around the edges: multi-colored grass on the greens, no real danger of losing balls in the water (which I like... but still did!), it's one of the few courses where I've lost balls right out in the open (obviously NOT on the fairway! smh!), but the terrain is nice and rolling, and the course sort of becomes a part of you by the time you get to the back 9. It's just a nice fit. I'd equate it to having a great time at a tavern as opposed to feeling stuffy in an upscale bar. Tuckaway is definitely the friendly tavern! Even if you have a bad day with your game (I'm Bogie+, just under 100 average), you'll still feel like you spent a good day outdoors by the time you're done. The staff are expedient and professional, they guy cooking the brats and dogs out back is a great conversationalist, and the ladies working the bar and beer carts are very friendly... and quite attractive, I must add! Tuckaway is just a simple, manageable, very relaxing day of golf!
Do You Like Golfing in a Field of Dandelions?
OK, so we know weed control is an on-going battle for anyone with a lawn - multiply that by thousands for a golf course and we see the struggle they have. But.... most courses that are serious about their business manage to keep things under control. That said, Tuckaway has a huge issue with dandelions - they are everywhere - except the greens (which in fact, in spite of being a bit soft and spongy - lot's of rain the past week -, were not bad). And all these dandelions have now matured and are throwing thousands more seed into the course. It appears there has been some attempt at spraying - many of the dandelions are showing signs of curling up and perhaps going into remission. But my goodness, during our round we had to institute a special relief rule to allow moving the ball away from dandelion clusters. They were the worst in the rough, but the fairways were not spared of their presence. Otherwise, the course is in decent shape - greens okay but soft, tee boxes OK, cart paths in pretty good shape. Layout has a few interesting holes. It's actually a tough little course (check out the severely right-to-left sloped approach fairway and hugely elevated green on #10, or the blind over-the-hill-down-to-the-pond 2nd shot on the par 5 #17 as examples.!). The day was a bit wet and cool, not the greatest golf weather and our scores were consistent with the weather and the course conditions - not very good. Nonetheless, the Hot Deal on GolfNow made it certainly a good value, even with all the above said. If you can get the low, low price, it's better than a day in the office!
Fun time
Fringe grass was long, slow group a head, nice and dry.
Great Time
Well kept green are in good shape not a lot of water very well groomed fairways in joyed my game.
Nice layout
I was pleasantly surprised how hilly it was for the Midwest. Very enjoyable.
