Great value for the money
The course was in good shape for this time of year including the greens.
Carriage Green’s review
Carriage Green’s review
It’s early in the year but the greens were fine the staff was friendly I had a good time not a great course by for the money I think it’s worth it
Great green conditions
Greens in excellent shape. Rest of course below average shape. Although, evidence improvements underway.Fair course with long par threes.
Not a must play
Played early in the season so course not in great shape but the 9th hole was under construction. In addition no starter so people weren’t grouped and therefore slow play.
Lou
Great time at Carraige. Thanks for all the help Lou
Pre season
Winter golf-course was soaked-not their fault, just glad to get out before it snowed again. Very friendly staff. Will play again in the spring when conditions are better.
HIDDEN GEM!
Course was in great shape even this early in the golf season. Course has some neat holes, not cookie cutter and price is great.
Cannot wait to play it again!!
Good shape for this time of year
Played on 2/27/18. Course was in good shape for this time of year, especially with all the rain we have had. It was cart paths only, but we still finished in 4 hours. Greens were in really good shape. Obviously there are changes going on there - cart paths being fixed and a temporary green on number 9. The new green for number 9 looks like it will be a fun hole to play when it is finished. The long par 4's are challenging - and look out for those creeks! The Pro shop wasn't open yet, but everything was handled through the bar. Staff was friendly and we got out right on time. We'll definitely be back when the season really starts.
Probably nice at one time
I have played here a handful of times. Pro shop is worn and bare bones. Restaurant seems out of the late 70s. I can imagine this was once a nice centerpiece to a new neighborhood development. Now, the houses are above average but the course is worn out and the employees are rude. Lots of broken pavement on cart paths (and in parking lot) mean a jarring ride. Everything else is average at best. And to top it off, the employees are very rude. You will not be greeted and have to seek out their attention as if you are doing them a favor by asking to play there! In all fairness, it was probably a better place to work years ago. Lots of better options out there IMHO.
Not a place to go to when it's wet
I like the course enough to have actually had an outing there, but only in the fall. Convenient and challenging enough. However, if you were to go out there right now after a solid week of rain, most of it would be a swamp. I'll rate it average because it is either quite good or quite bad.
Not first time here definitely the last time
You probably will enjoy your round more if you find a field and dig 18 holes. It's a trip back to the 1970s you don't want to go on. The guy running the place is the single worst golf course employee if ever seen.
Fun course
Challenging par 3’s, narrow fairways, par 4 and 5’s that are fun to play. Nice Course that I will play again and recommend for novice players
Ready for fall golf
The course is in very good shape and ready for play. One new green under construction, be careful to drive for the temporary green on the right, and not the practice putting green on the left. Do remember this is not Mistwood, or Bollingbrook, so it's not challenging buts its maintained, and is a pleasant course, with a few opportunities to play a draw or slice to your advantage on the doglegs. Option to bring water into play, or avoid it if you choose. That is with the exception of a few creeks that'll swallow you ball if you don't plan your shots.
Course condition
We have played this course a few year ago and was not happy with the condition. This year we have played this course several time and have been very impressed with the excellent condition of this golf course. What a change .Will be playing this course again many times.
The one change I would recommend would be to give senior golfers a better break with the tee boxes.
A nearby gem
Carriage Greens has a reputation for being an ill kempt overplayed course.. I played midweek and was pleasantly surprised that its anything but.. this near western suburb track is ideally located near I-55 and has a layout on some holes could easily be on the tour with a little bit of work.. would definitely recommend and play again...I hope the the owner keeps up t he improvements as I think they will pay off at which they should rebrand the name
Will play again
Better than I expected for the price. Willing to give the new management a chance to breathe some freshness into the course. I will definitely play it again.
