First Time Here
Overall I enjoyed the course and would play here again. Staff was pleasant and pace of play was great. Only thing of note was the greens are in need of repair (patchy). Would certainly play here again

Fun Course
Excelent place to work on your short game. The greens however are in fair to poor shape. A lot of work needs to be done, for them to be this bad this early in the season. People are wonderful and always meet up with nice people to play with. Recommend the place even with the poor greens if that is not the most important part of your day, playing.

Fun Time
Four of us played and had fun. We were worried about no places along the course to go to the bathroom, purchase water or snacks. So we had to quit early. Also, we kept getting bumped back as people with yearly memberships jumped in front of us. This put us on the heals of another team, whom we let play through, but, then we were feeling pressured throughout the rounds by people as we had gotten very backed up all from that first bump by the members. It through everything off. There needs to be better scheduling. .

My neighborhood gem
I am a regular at Canal Shores. I also play many of the public courses in the Chicago area,
I can play the entire course in under three hours.

Greens need some love
I never expect much from this short course but mostly all the tee boxes were under construction and a lot of the greens had patches of dry spots with no grass. The greens were bumpy and need a lot of help. Also there needs to be better signage and direction to the next holes when crossing streets and bridges.

Very Enjoyable Golf
Canal Shores is an enjoyable golfing experience. It runs along the with houses and neighborhoods lining the course. This makes for a picturesque layout and neighborhood friendliness. The course difficulty is moderate which is perfect to get the game back in shape and have some fun. With twelve par 3's and six par 4's, it's easy to walk the course in under 3 hours, except for the business days. Highly recommend!

Cheap, DOG FRIENDLY (Yay!), Short Course
This 60 par short course is made up of only par 3s and 4s. Although short, I was fortunately able to use my driver for 2-3 holes. I brought my dog which was such an amazing experience. It was such a fun day for a low-cost round and to bring my dog. Only complaint is that a lot of the tee boxes were under construction (so the tees were moved up 30-40 yards for almost every hole). Also, since the course is open for public hiking, I frequently had to wait 5-7 min before teeing off to make sure pedestrians/hikers clear away—in order to avoid accidentally hitting them. Overall, I would definitely return and would recommend to a friend!
