Good value
Not a perfect course but nice layout and reasonable price. Rough is too long and caught the clubs too deep. Greens could have been managed better. But overall good for the money.
Person in the pro shop very rude could not understand the price from the golf now.com Did not agree with the price from Golf now did not want to to give me a riding cart overall not pleasant the course was in great shape
Great course for the money
Pros
- course was in good shape (Late October)
- course layout is tough (Blue Tees)
- good price for 18 w/cart ($25)
Cons
- impatient groups behind made us rush shots
- cart was included in our fee, but they made us pay a $2 deposit for the key and when we returned the key, they said you dont get that money back, which makes no sense so be aware
Call and confirm your golf now appt
I booked a 1128 hot deal a day in advance, woke up to an email saying your T time will be pushed back to noon. Pro shop said someone called at 530pm and booked my slot when i booked at 230pm . Also stated my golf now T time didnt "pop-up" on his screen. We were trying to beat the rain. Tried to cancel, he didnt know how to do that and asked for the golf now phone number. Clearly not how that works. And reading golf nows request cancel policy on a hot deal, with an employee who cant work a computer, im not chancing not getting my refund of 106 . showed up, theres an outing, super fun.
Sir or Madam, my name is Adam, the GM at VMGC. If you find the time, I'd like to ask you some more questions regarding your experience. So we can do our best to avoid this on the future Please give me a call at our listed number. Thanks for playing with us and I hope you have a great off season
Great course .. even with 7inches of rain this past week course was still playable. Big bunkers and plenty of water in play.
Will definitely be one of my go to courses
Great Weekend Rates
Tee time: 11:20 on a Saturday ($35). Drove 40 minutes up from Chicago as this was the best Saturday deal before noon less than an hour away from the city. The pro shop attendant gave me the course rate, which is $35 after 11 on the weekends instead of the GolfNow rate ($49) that I had reserved for - so that was a plus! The first few holes aren't all too special, but after hole #5 things start to get fun and that only gets better on the back nine. Conditions are solid with the exception of a few greens. At $35 on weekends, Veteran's Memorial is a good choice for a value round!
Nice Track
0640 Tee Time, as a twosome behind a foursome we got the round done before 1030-sub 4 hr round on Sunday Morning. Nicely kept, nothing too tough for any mid-capper to play.
solid track for 35$ or less with cart
Fun layout. With some forgiveness off tee. Course was bit overgrown (probably from the amount of rain we’ve got). Golfed a Sunday morning 6:25.
Great course that’s well maintained
We played the back 9 after thinking we would be rained out. The course was well laid out and maintained well but very wet. I was actually surprised the let us play.
No carts slowed the group down quite a bit.
Other than the groundskeeper cutting the fringe on 11 as we played it was a great outing
$21 for 9 on this course was a good price.
The course itself is long
The greens are challenging
And it feels like there is sand everywhere.
Worth the trip up. Will play it again.
Gem
Loved the course layout. Staff led by Mike in the Pro Shop are fantastic. Truly enjoyable round of golf today, thank you. Plan to go back.
Justin, my name is Adam, the GM at VMGC. I'm glad you found our course conditions good for late season golf. I am truly sorry you felt rushed. Also, I'd like to find out more about the deposit you had to pay, this is not, and has never been our policy for cart keys. Please if you have a moment, look us up and contact me please via phone. Thanks for your business.
