Fun Day
I commend superintendent and his grounds staff.
Course in great condition with many improvements. Greens and fairway ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Great value for a very nice course
Nice layout. Fairways and greens still in very good condition.
Great shape
Excellent course, very good shape for this time of year. Plenty maintenance staff on course blowing leaves off greens and fairways. They have a great fall price going on now too.
Great course ( still too much $ per round on Weekends) Weekdays are best.
The course and Management are making significant changes to the course!
PROS-
- I love the topography of the course.
- The fairways and the greens are impeccable. Kudos to the Head Greens Keeper/Superintendent!
- The over growth of trees has been cleaned up significantly.
- The subsoil drainage and irrigation have greatly Improved the course! Kudos the greens team!
- The landscaping block walls @ the 9th hole seem to NO longer be a liability.
- New-ish golf carts with GPS. FINALLY.
- Pace of play can vary on start times.
Suggestions-
- Please add water features to the several ponds to help with algae and stagnant water smells.
- Please add in a few pumps with VFD's to create a creek and circulate the water.
CONS -
- No sandtraps.
- Horrible cart paths. at least they have been adding limestone to assist.
- 18th hole sorta lackluster with parking lot and layout.
- 9th hole and 16th hole are dangerous for persons getting hurt. Perhaps shorten the 9th hole & 16th hole or re-shape, and lengthen the 17th hole and hopefully extend the length of the 18th.
- The 10th hole is lackluster. ( but the least of H.H.C.C. challenges moving forward)
- Repairs to the Facilities. Save the analog clock & hire a G.C. to make repairs over the next 4-5 years w/ a C.I.P. plan for the future.
-Asking the Forest Preserve of C.C. at Hickory Hills Preserve to assist with removal of trees along their fence line to the North of the 15th hole and to the west of the 16th and 17th holes.
- The need for a Traveling Ranger on the weekends to stop the stupidity. These guys are NOT in the PGA and there is NO need to line up putts and have etiquette. The PGA has sorta set an unreasonable standard. Hit the BALL.
-Bring the cameras back to help assist with pace of play and stupidity.
-Change the tee box markers on the Weekends (especially if you are going to charge $77.50 per round on the Weekends. No offense, HHCC isn't on the Level of Coghill, Old Oak, Ravisloe... Are you great for the local area. YES!
Not to harp on you guys. I am stating what many of my friends have said, and we all think that MGMT and the Superintendent have done tremendous. We fully understand money to make improvements is paramount.
I/we think you could become the premier course, with a more focused 30,000 foot approach!
Deal but...
If you want a relatively easy and inexpensive course, where you can easily hit on the next tee-box when aiming for the green (some are close by), are OK with dirty carts, a friendly starter and indifferent pro shop staff, then this is for you. Pace of play is typically fast during the week, slow on Saturdays.
Value for money
Weekday tee times largely available. Course needed a serious mowing across all roughs yesterday. Greed. We’re good. Older carts, rather dirty. But cheap green fees.
Picturesque
Unfortunately I had a 7:52 am tee time. It was a cloudy day. The dew never lifted during the round. Great condition, short but tricky. Looking forward to playing under dryer conditions.
A nice course!
I played in the early afternoon and moved right along, I was not held up at the tee. Course is challenging enough. Some improvements are happening next the a couple fairways, but never affected me.
Great Shape in early Fall
Course has some short holes (288-320 par 4s) and shorter par 5's but decent amount of elevation changes and some narrow chutes. Grass in fairway and tees was excellent and greens were in very good condition. Green, consistent and rolled true. Pace of play on a weekday afternoon was pretty good but didn't see any ranger on the course. Definitely worth the price.
Great Course
Being from FL, I have relatively high expectations but reasonable. I was rather impressed with the conditions and layout of the course. Any complaints I’d offer are likely the way golf courses are in the area. I would definitely recommend giving this course a shot.
