the course is not long but you have to hit a straight ball. many trees
woodruff is a short course with a lot of trouble awaiting . lot of trees a creek running through the back nine, trees galore. if you hit a hook or slice your in trouble for sure.
DID NOT GET TO PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got to the golf course 3 minutes before my tee time stood in line to pay, So I go to pay and find out they gave my spot to a walk on.I caught a barge & train on my way to the course, but still got there in time so I thought. Never has this happened before.I was so mad I told that person I WOULD NEVER BE BACK TO THIS COURSE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! He then told me that if I waited that I could go out after the league got done teeing off. I told him I had a tee time I should not have to wait. He then looked @ the clock & told me I was late,I then said I have been standing in line for 5 minutes!! GOLFNOW MAKE THIS RIGTH!!!!
Great Shape!
The greens were the best that I have seen here in a couple of years and the price was great. Got a deal on golfnow for $25 and I played the course by myself in less than 2.5 hours. I would highly recommend this course for $30 or less.
Shorter Track with a More Interesting Back Nine
Woodruff is not a terribly long course but you've got to be able to hit it straight. It could not be considered an executive course, but there are no par 5s. Several of the first 5 holes on the front are rather boring, straight back and forth stacked side-by-side going downhill from the clubhouse then back up. There are a lot of trees lining these fairways however and hitting into them means little chance to reach the greens. The back side gets quite a bit more interesting with more doglegs and elevation changes. Eleven is probably the signature hole, falling away to the right from the tee with OB to the right and junk left. A well placed drive (probably with a hybrid) is critical here. The fairway in front of 15 was pretty chewed up but the greens were in very nice shape. No driving range.

front nine is good practice for the back. Nice course.
Short but still fun
For a park district course Woodruff is a fun course. The front nine is very short but builds confidence as long as you hit straight shots. The back is a bit more challenging but overall a fun course to play.
Awful experience
Pro "Dave" was horribly unaccommodating., course was in awful shape, and pace of play was like the Bataan death march. Terrible waste of one of the last nice days of the year.
Fun course
The people who make the course run will want you to come back, from concessions to front desk to starter really makes enjoyable.
Front is a little too short, but back makes up for it with the doglegs & the hilliness.
Very nice little course and in good condition despite the lack of rain this summer. Short but challenging and I really like the back nine, especially the par three 12th. Girls in the shop could have been a bit more friendly. I got the feeling they didn't really want to be working the day we played.
par 69 is deceptive but accurate
A very pretty course with two skill levels. The front 9 pretty easy, the back 9 a wake up call. Greens are fast and tight, not only in size but in location to trees. A great shot can hit and roll off or bounce and disappear into the woods. Don't let the par 69 fool you. It's a tough 69 but several par four greens are drive-able. The layout on the 6 outer fairways all have the wooded OB on the right side begging the slicer like a siren call. A par 69 challenge for the weekend golfer but IT LOOKS SO EASY!! ;-)) . A great value for the $$ and a fine challenge for both the long hitter and the short game player.
Friendly medium length course
Well maintained local park district course. Hazards appropiate. Easy landing spots off tees. Mature trees
