Good short course
A nice par 68 with an easy front 9 to warm you up for a back 9 that is a little tight with some elevation changes.
It is what it is
Cheap park district course. Average condition. Short course. Good for beginners. Stuck behind some slow foursomes who were unwilling to let a twosome play through. Nobody to enforce pace of play. Catch a hot deal and its worth the price. Not worth the normal rates in my opinion.
10/12/14 round
This is a awesome course that plays like 2 9 hole courses. the front 9 is nice mix and the back nine is a real challenge.
Great course for intermediate to scratch golfers.
A nice day of golf. The greens are deceptively simple , but challenging. I liked the rolling hills.. I would urge anyone to give it a try. Thanks for a great day.
Great value
Was a great course for $30, well maintained and nice pace of play. Not much water or sand, which could be boring to some, but I enjoyed the round.
Great Course!
Not your average park district type course! The grounds were in excellent condition even considering the large amount of rain the night before. Great deal at the rate, will definitely golf here again!
Good Time
Any day of golfing is a good day. Woodruff is not a bad course…no par fives, but really nice greens and a hidden gem in Joliet.
a real bargain
Although winter was awful, this course is in very good shape. Pleasantly surprised at grooming of fairways and only one green was sporting a pretty bad case of snow mold. Played fast. Personell were welcoming.
Good value
Played in mid April and course was in great condition. It's a short course, no par 5s. Front 9 is fairly easy, back is a little more fun with some hills an a dog leg or 2. Good value. Very impressed with the course condition for a park district course. Nice mature trees.
Great value
This was my first time playing the course. I as pleasantly surprised as the course was in excellent shape, especially considering the rough winter we just went through.
Forgot how interesting the back nine is.
Nice day, course in as good a condition this time of the year, save for some disgruntled vagrants who was upset about the green conditions. Leaf weren't a problem as much as the seeds, you'd need a leaf blower following each group to clear for your putts. Evan with that issue the pitch and stemp were challening. It's been years since I've been able to play and will definitely return to one very interesting layout, love 11 - 13.
Nice short course.
This course is a nice, short course but don't be fooled it still has its challenges. Only a few par 5s. Very clean & well maintained.
Two very different 9's
The front 9 is very basic. Each hole is a short par 4 that walks you back and forth. Trees line the fairways for each hole. Very much a beginner style course set up. The back 9 is a totally different experience with undulating fairways and doglegs. It was more challenging and more fun to play. My twosome did get stuck behind some very slow players who never let us play through. So we were waiting on these guys every hole. The ranger did come out to talk with them once but it didn't seem to help. The course as a whole was in very good condition. I would play it again just for the back 9.
leaves on ground makes it tough to find ball if you don't follow it.
lots of color in the trees, fairways really green and some greens have leaves on them.so plan to do a little landscaping before you putt. All in all course is in great shape.
Stay out of the woods
Always a beautiful place to hit. The back nine is really a challenge. You don't have to be a big hitter...but must shape some shots to score
Fun Course
This is a nice hidden treasure. The 15th green is steeply sloped enough to be the most unforgiving I've ever played. I’m looking forward to play it again.
Good Value Course, Pace of Play Slow
Overall a nice course, played on a Saturday afternoon and pace of play was very slow.
A creek comes into play on the back 9 very tricky.
I have played this course for years you will like it.
