About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Nice track with solid back 9
There are a ton of options for publis golf the Chicago area. Really nice layout. Not exceptionally long at 6700 yds...but a solid test. A little flat, but great design using what they have.
Will play there again.
Not a very interesting layout and a disappointing final hole. Lots of broken asphalt and could use a little more TLC

Worst course
Tee time was 11:45. Got there 10:30am.
Checkin and there was NO golf Carts. Passed 11am. Still no golf carts. Passed 12.30. Still golf carts. Talked to pro shop and they said I would need to wait 2.:30 Pm.
Nice course
People were terrific and the course was in great shape. Only negative is that there was no drinking water on the course and we played on the day it hit 100 degrees. Overall though a pleasant experience.
Great Value
The value you get can’t be beat. The course is in great condition, it’s not usually super busy so they pace of play is good. The course itself is not the most difficult, but it’s also not the easiest, so overall you’ll have a round you’ll enjoy.
Avoid unless weather perfect, Mgmt refuses any reasonable weather accommodations
Tried to play on Mothers Day but our celebrant could not get warmed up and was not enjoying her day. After an hour we decided to stop play and not completely ruin her day. Offered to pay separately for the holes we attempted and get some type of credit for the 18 holes we intended to play. Mgmt. claims that there is language in the voucher that prevents him from providing some type of credit, but I read the certificate and no such language exists.
Lake Bluff GC
Can never figure why there isn’t more play on this course. Great layout, once it gets going great condition. Just a pretty, fun and interesting golf course.
