Lake Bluff Golf Club
About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Nice, Wide Open Course
A nice, wide open course...not too crowded, pace of play was good, small but adequate driving range. Only complaint is that the course is very wet and muddy in some spots...golf cart got stuck in the mud at one point! But overall, a great day!
Great Local Track
Course was in fantastic shape despite all the rain we have had. Round was right around 4 hours, starter did a great job getting everyone out on time. Clubhouse staff was very friendly. Course itself is very scoreable, especially the front nine. Design is fairly straightforward. Love the range/practice area here for before a round. Nice course to have in the rotation for a relaxed outing with friends.
A diamond in the rough
The course had a nice layout with a different variety of holes to keep the golf interesting . The staff was nice and the pace of play was tolerable
Lake Bluff Golf Course
Nice course, in great shape, not very difficult, not exceptionally challenging, nothing fancy but solid. There’s a driving range and a putting green so you can warm up. Small bar & restaurant in the clubhouse.
Definitely worth a round.
Course is hurting
Good pace of play and a fun round with friendly people but the conditions were in really rough shape. Bumpy, uncut greens. Overgrown trees. Unplayable lies in extremely wet fairways. Still a fun course to play but there are much better options for the price
real nice course...in the middle of some repairs
Lake Bluff is definitely a nice, challenging course with a unique layout. But, they are in the middle of doing some fairway repairs, which i wish i was aware of- my fault for not calling ahead. Greens were aerated recently, but it is that time of the year. Overall i would recommend Lake Bluff, but just check & see if the fairway repairs have had time to finish.
Fair test at great value
Great track on the North Shore. The course was in excellent condition. Greens putted true at a good speed. Fairways well manicured. Course is not exceptionally long but is a good length for amateurs at 6500 yds. from the tips. .
A good walk unspoiled
Lake Bluff continues to set the bar for value. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more accommodating. For those that like to walk, this is a great walking course and the turf conditions are superb.
Great play in Lake Bluff
Lake Bluff Golf Course is extremely convenient location while having a simple and fun layout. Best public course in the area. Support your local course. Great staff too.
Good value for the price
Course was well cared for, but a bit soggy the day we played. Challenging greens.
Nice Course
This was the first time playing this course. It is in great shape. The fairways are ave. width, not too many trees. Course is fair to the average golfer. You can't get in to much trouble. Greens a little shaggy, but it's late November what do you want?
Lake Bluff
Good course, good greens, dead range balls, and many leaves present 4 stars.
Great Course!
I really like this course, its got a country club atmosphere without the rude arrogance. Course layout is great and its relaxing as there is no hoses or loud noises surrounding the courss. Faiway was in excellent condition, good t- boxes and greens were good as well. Pace of play was perfect, great enjoyable round. Only advise is when booking on line you cant get a tee time if your a single, its a shame for me cause i often play as single and would love to be able to play here more often.
