Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Wet and slow
4 groups per par 3. About all you need to know.
And the course was a swamp after rains Saturday. I can only imagine the turf damage that was sustained.
No rangers and no beverage carts. Oh yeah, they were out of odouls and hot dogs (at the start of summer).
Tee time intervals of 7 minutes are a joke, especially on weekends. They should manage revenue better by having a better experience (longer intervals, and beverage carts).
Too bad. It’s a fun course.
Pace of Play Horrendous
Every year it seems like they keep trying to jam pack the tee times and its horrible. This past Sunday there was a 25 minute delay on the first hole then an additional 5 - 15 minute delay each hole following. It was a 5.5 hour round and it was miserable.
It was a fun time.
Very slow pace of play. Enjoyed driving range and practice bunker. First time I played this course and I intend on going back. Great price. I do not iunderstand why some holes are missing ball washers. Thank you, had a great Sunday.
Great service and great layout
Enjoyed a sunny fall day of golfing at Lake Bluff. I was greeted at the counter with keys for my golf cart and a friendly hello Mr Cooley. Enjoyed the course and the Service. I recommend golfing here. Very Challenging and nice greens
