Spring Golf
Good course but recovering from hard winter. Grass is thin, rough is light. Recent aerations of greens yet to grow in. Two temporary greens due to winter damage.
This course is no longer worth playing
I understand the long winter has taken a toll on the golf courses in the area but this course no longer even cares. The rate was raised to 73.00 which is over priced even if it was in great shape. Plenty of golf courses close by that are worth playing.
nice
Nice course, some false greens and work being done as it was very early in the season. Some difficult holes but nothing too crazy, recommend for a foursome, probably slow for a two. We were originally a two and got paired up with the two behind us only to have the twosome behind them riding us the entire round. A little ridiculous.
Not in good shape yet
One of the holes used the fairway in place of the green. The other greens weren't in great shape either. It's normally a good course if you get a decent price. I would check it out later in the season when the weather is better and the grounds crew can get it in better shape.
not quite ready for golf
It was wonderful to get outside and play but the course conditions were not up to par at this time. I am sure with added sunshine and spring rains the course should drastically improve in the near future. If you get a bargain (green fees) it is fine but if you pay full price you will be disappointed. I loved playing, I was so happy to be outside!
GREAT CONDITION FOR APRIL!
Four of my buddies and I stepped out for the first time this year and it was well worth it! The course was in great condition for the time of year. There was a little ice damage on a couple of the greens but it seemed they were working and repairing it. Pace of play was fair as we had time to stop and eat after nine holes. One of my personal favorite courses in the area!
Beautiful Trees and fast greens
Nice course. If you get a deal on the price with golfnow.com
PROS: Fast greens
Beautiful mature trees
Deer as the name implies ( I saw three )
Not too hard but still challenging
$3 hamburger with fries
$3 beers
CONS: Expensive. Played better courses for less.
Some might want more of a challenge.
Mint Condition
Paid $24 thru Golfnow. The course was in mint condition both fairway and greens. Fast green. Fairway and greens were clean from leaves. I couldn't ask for a better day and condition of the course. If time permits will definitely return before it gets too cold.
Delightful course.
My husband and I played on a cool fall afternoon. The foliage was gorgeous. It is landscaped with a beautiful combination of old mature trees, prairie grasses, and water hazards. The course was well maintained and the greens were in great shape. Some of the fairways are undulating. The bunkers are pretty shallow allowing for easy exit . We will definitely play Deerpath again.
Enjoyable old school course
We have added this course to the weekend rotation this fall; good value, not long at 6200 yds, mature trees, small greens, nice layout, and pretty open the mornings we've played leading to 3 1/2 rounds. A bonus is the burger and beer special at the clubhouse grill.
A good round
Played this course with friends on Columbus Day. The course was well-maintained and the staff was friendly. A little expensive for the design and challenge of the course.
Course is playable and always well maintained
I always enjoy playing here with the variety of the level of challenges. The course is always well maintained.
Nice neighborhood course
The course, on the weekends, is too overbooked. I'd stay away, since it makes for extremely slow playtime. During the week, however, it's a very nice course to play.
The course was a very pleasant suprise
We were pleasantly surprised by the course design that made the most out of basically flat landscape. it was well thought out as the hazards were plentiful and well placed and approaches to the green were challenging by virtue of mature trees. Very well maintained.
Well worth the price!
The course was in excellent condition! The greens rolled true and were pretty quick. We played another course while in the area, paid more for greens fees and was not as nearly as nice as what this course was. We had a very enjoyable day!
One of the best values on the North Shore
Great golf course, fun, challenging and well maintained. Played Sat AM in less than 4 hrs. Those from the city looking for great value at a fun course should head to Deerpath. Also would be remiss if I did not mention the great breakfast sandwiches at the turn, my group raved about them!
Great traditional Northshore course. It loks more like a country club than a municipal course.
It looks and feels more like a country club than a municipal course. Slow play is not tolerated. The natives were very friendly!!
not your typical course
Not your typical back and forth straight fairways, some turn left then right, some make a sharp right. Fairways are narrow with trees. I had a lot of fun!
leave driver in your bag
Tight, short course. Very much target golf. The course is in great shape - very green and lush. Good food at the turn and nice people. Building/facility is in need of updates. Will play again for sure.
