Great walkable 9 hole course
But bring your hand cart and your full set, this is a well-layed out 9 h0loe course that will require most of the clubs in your bag.
Friendly, and great course design, given a small footprint.
Ron, behind the pro shop counter, is an affable sort who is dedicated to providing a good golf experience for all. This is a well manicured, good test of golf.
Course in great shape. Only drawback was greens recently aerated making putting for pars and birdies virtually impossible.
Great Fall day for Golf
Temp abouit 50 very little wind, lots of sunshine. Excellent round of golf. No slow play.
Great 36 Par 9 hole
Staff is always cool with a great restaurant there too.
Course is pretty easy for an ok golfer but tricky for a 20 plus handicapper.
Course maintained well even though lots of play. Straight tee shots and not length are the key here to success on all holes really because it's not very long on any hole, even the par five holes can be reached in two.
Lots of water and well maintained sand. Course drains WAY BETTER than other areas courses so when it's rained, this is most likely to be able to drive a cart.
Policy Change
I did not play on the scheduled date, as indicated. It was lightly raining and thought I would receive a rain check but according to the rules, only if the course is deemed unplayable will a rain check be issued. This particular day they allowed players but could only walk. Carts were not allowed, though i prebooked and paid for one on GN. The people at the course were only doing their job, and the rules are the rules but I was still disappointed.
Good not great
This course is a great deal for the price. My father and I, both not the best golfers around, played the full 9 holes in a little under 2 hours. All the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. The only thing I can possible complain about is them over watering the grass. We teed off at 7:50am on a bright sunny day and all the way through the 9th hole, there was a layer of water on top of the grass in the fairways and fringe. Just a slight annoyance as it seemed to effect the way the balls played. Other than that, really can not complain about much with this course. Worth the money and great for players who are not that good.
RB
Course is challenging and in great shape. Good value.

Course is well kept. Staff is friendly. Food is excellent.
Mixed feeling about this course
This has always been a special place for me, my father and I have been playing here since I began golfing about 10 years ago. It is a beautiful, yet challenging course. For a long time it was a lot of fun, but within the last 2 or 3 seasons, the mood on the course has changed. My most recent visit we were delayed on the 1st tee by 18 minutes due to overbooking, when we finished the round, we were immediately met by a ranger who informed us our 2.5 hour round was unacceptable, and we needed to change our game or find another location. This has become the norm recently where the rangers are constantly following people and reprimanding for one reason or another. Unfortunately, it appears my time at this course has come to an end. I do not appreciate a public course making someone feel not welcome unless they are single handicap.
SLOOOOOOWWWWWWW
This is by far the slowest paced course in Illinois. Possibly America. I am not really sure what the ranger's job is on this course. It certainly is not to tell people to speed up or let a group or two to play through. I have played 18 holes on other courses in the same amount of time. If you don't mind making a picnic out of the day on a golf course or being behind groups of people who have never been on a course before and are just learning how to play the game, then have at it. I like the course but I can't stand literally sitting around between holes.
River Bend Lisle
I’ve played this course a few times and have been very satisfied each time. The course is beautiful and challenging, and the staff has always been very friendly. It’s very reasonably priced for a course that is so well-maintained. I’m a semi regular golfer and would recommend this course to golfers at any skill level. I definitely look forward to my next round!
