About
Old Oak Country Club is situated only 20 minutes from Chicago, but the beautifully wooded terrain shaded by mature oaks and hickory trees, makes it feel as though it's much further away. Originally opened in 1926, the golf course is one of the area's oldest and even one of the oldest in the state. It has undergone many renovations over the years but it still retains its classic character. The layout offers plenty of variety with drivable par 4s and lengthy par 5s. The rolling topography provides many of the golf course's challenges, from the rolling fairways and undulating greens to the elevated tees and blind shots. Mature trees tower over the fairways, adding another tricky element to the golf course. Old Oak Country Club is challenging but fair and still quite playable, which is why it has long been a local favorite.

Greens were not good slow and Bumpy
I booked on GN everyone was riding
me and my friend walked the course fairways were decent but rough was long and heavy
Greens we’re not good for a $ 54 to walk not worth the price
Great shape considering the amount of rain the last 2 weeks
We've had close to record rainfall the past couple of weeks and yes the course was wet, but almost no standing water. Its a very pretty course, not too long but challenging as plenty of trees, water, elevation changes and lush rough. The two members of staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. this was our first time here and we'll be back
Nice course awful greens
Course and pace were nice. Greens weren’t very good. Plenty of time to fix some issues on greens.
poor pace
The pace was so slow and took over 5 hours to play 18. The course has a nice set up but I could not enjoy round since I spent more time sitting on golf cart waiting.
Not worth the money
Played here a few times and same old thing...slow pace. Not to mention the starter was a little rude threatening to remove us from the course if we didn’t follow the cart path only rule...keep in mind we hadn’t even teed off yet. The worst part was the greens were in AWFUL shape. Seems like the rule of repairing ball marks should be enforced as hard as the cart path rule. Basically at $40+ this course is not worth it.
SLOW as molasses and greens in poor shape
Played here on several occasions in the past. Have never seen this many unrepaired ball marks on greens, unfriendly course rangers or play as SLOW as today ! Good fun layout - too bad other issues made the round less than stellar !
Nice time
I know not why there all the haters out there. The course was in great condition. Yes, there are trees however it you hit the ball in the fairway, the trees don’t get in the way. The greens were quick today. If you fix your ball marks they are fine. The staff was friendly and accommodating. A great course. Go there.
You can tell its a 1920's course
The greens are a joke.#2 is a prime example. 1920's greens, small and tilted like a wash board. Put a clowns mouth at many or the holes. Many of the greens are really torn up. no real maintenance at all. In a league there and the Par three hole # 6 has been in disrepair for 3 years now. Watch out in the bunkers, I pulled a rock out bigger than a house brick. Old Oaks is correct, many trees overgrown and block some greens and even your tee shot on the par three12th. They don't even look above them when they place the tee markers. If they bring the greens into this century, the course would be great.
Greens were in Horrible condition. Beat up, chucks missing and extremely slow. By far the worst condition i've ever played on here.
Driving range was closed because they could not get any of the range balls picked up!
Ranger
Ranger told us to go faster when all day we waited for the group in front of us. Seemed like he just road around to harass without realizing what group was the issu.e. Kind of a jerk.
Nice layout. With the rain, cart path only which slows play. Pro shop staff took my money but didn’t tell me where to get a cart. Course was wet but that was expected. People need to fix ball marks on greens

Great Track
Great layout and fun course to play. A nice mix of long and short par fours and par 3s.
Well maintained and greens roll really well.
