About
Marengo Ridge Golf Club opened as a nine-hole course in 1963. Spread across rolling, wooded hills, the course was crafted by re-purposing an old farm. The working cattle barn was even renovated to become the clubhouse. As the golf course garnered a local following, a new nine was added in 1990. The more than 25-year difference between when the two nines were constructed give the course a unique character. The layout seamlessly blends modern techniques and classic design. The distinct topographies of each nine add even more variety. Marengo Ridge Golf Club's original nine holes weave through mature trees while the newer holes are more open and links-style. There are several tricky doglegs throughout but it isn't overly punishing if you're errant. You'll also face several water hazards and strategically placed bunkers.

Good, not great
It's been many years since I played this course and the layout was better than I recalled. I was disappointed that the bunkers are not being maintained even though other courses have resumed maintenance. Also the greens were fairly bumpy with many pins placed on a crest.
Great shape
The course is on great shape! It is like playing two different courses. One nine is longer and a little more open. The other nine is more traditional, tighter with more dog leg holes. Overall a great experience!
Nice day of golf
Great value for the money. The speed on the greens was a little inconsistent, but with a little rain they will be great.

Worth trying out
My wife and I are fairly new to golf. We wanted to expand beyond the local courses, so we gave Marengo Ridge a try. The staff was friendly, the facilities were well-kept, and the carts were in great shape for a public course. There are not a lot of frills, but what is there is clean and adequate for most people. The course was fun to play, even with the gusty winds that we happened to get that day; it was just a different challenge. The course layout included a few doglegs, so read the map!
We will definitely play there again.
