About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

Brilliant Course, Definitely Worth The Drive!
Blackstone - what a gem! Definitely worth the 40 minute drive down 90 to get to. Long time cook county golfer turned to explore courses outside of my usual play area. With fast and pristine greens, perfect tee boxes and fairways, there's really nothing more we could ask for. Our foursome enjoyed the round with a completely packed tee sheet, pace of play was exactly 4 hr 20mins which is what they had said in the pro shop. Very friendly and understanding staff as well as coolers out on the course and of course, fantastic playing conditions. GPS on the carts is fantastic as well with accurate yardages on holes no matter where you are. Hope if you are reading this in the Chicagoland area, you decide to take a drive and see all that Blackstone has to offer.
Worth a little extra money!
Conditions are excellent, staff is friendly and accommodating, and pace is great.
Life is short... for a little extra money you can play this AWESOME course!!!
Solid 4.5 stars recommend
From arrival to departure Blackstone does not disappoint. It had been far too long since my last round here. I've avoided Blackstone because they charge premium rates and the tee sheet always seemed too crowded.....9 minute tee times. We booked a $44 senior rate after 2pm which was an excellent value. It's a $50 course....not $65 during the week and certainly not $87 on weekends.. Has driving range and practice area. Course conditions were extremely good....greens rolling nicely with good speed. Fairway and tee boxes in OK shape. Traps looked pristine/maintained......however a 1/2 star off of the overall rating - I was in three traps right in the middle/bottom of them. All three had next to no depth of sand in them....
Recommend and I'll look forward to returning. Blackstone is a very good designed/well maintained golf course.
Worth the trip
Had been meaning to check out Blackstone for a while. Well worth the drive out to Marengo and the weekday green fee was reasonable. Course was in great shape and the layout is challenging and fair. Staff is friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

the course always good, I've been retired 23 years I play 250 to 300 rounds a year, 18 to 36 holes a day, I would like for there to be a special rate for seniors, and able to continue play once finishing 18 holes, also some courses has special rates for us veterans, law enforcement, fire fighters, or protective service.

First time at this wonderful track.
Wow, what a great track. It's been on my list for many years and finally made the 1 hour trek. And boy was it ever worth it! Can't wait for the 2021 golf season to start, will definitely be back again.

Incredible Course Conditions
The course layout and conditions are incredible. These greens will ruin you for other less cared for courses. Greens are cut and rolled every day and the Stemp ratings are faster than any in the area. My only issue with Blackstone is the need for expanded clubhouse hours. Overall this is an extremely enjoyable round of golf.

Tough, but fair.
Not an easy course to play for the first time, especially in windy conditions, but excellent bunkers, fast greens and beautiful tee boxes. Looking forward to playing here again with a better idea of where the trouble lies.

One of the Best in Northwest
The staff is super friendly, as are the members I've met. Played here 3 times this season and every time got better. The first time there was a pace of play issue, but there was an outing that attributed to that. The next two times the pace was spot on for foursome, and during the day today we finished in under 4 hours. No mid course bar or beverage cart today, but it is late season, when they are open it is nice to hit the beverage house twice per round with cart service in between. Fast greens and a few tight fairways with well placed bunkers definitely will test the skill. Overall this is a country club style of play but without the high cost, I will play here anytime I can.
