Willow Run Golf Course

I've played this course many times in the past, however, this is the first time i have seen it in this condition. The Greens and tee boxes were in terrible shape. Unsuitable for play. We disappointed.

Course has been beset with a lot of ailments this past season including too much rain early, covid shutdown and lack of money, vandalism of greens and fairways, pump and watering failure for two weeks, hottest and driest July/August in decades, and more. Unfortunately, it shows! Fairways, which were never great, have lots of bare spots. T-boxes are nominally OK. Cart paths are rough and bouncy. Greens are in very bad shape. Patchy bare spots, which cause a lot of bumpy rolls. It going to take a lot of attention, and the course needs a few breaks to go its way to get back. It's too bad, since the course is basically rather attractive on a hilly, wooded tract of property. Maybe next year will have better things in store. This can be a fun little course to play when time for nine is all you've got, but it needs a lot more work before it's really up to caliber. I'm conditionally recommending it for next year assuming a bounce-back. Will try again in 2021. I'm hoping for it to succeed.

It’s been dry, and COVID has impacted everything, but the course appears to have been neglected for a few years now. Golfed bc it was near a friends house, will not be going back.

The greens and tees were in horrible shape. There was definitely more hard dirt then grass. The ground was so hard and dry you couldn’t place a tee. Putting on the green was an adventure as it was in horrible shape. I wouldn’t even be open if I was them.

This course was completely unplayable. The greens acted like fairways. The ground is hard as rock. They haven’t repaired divots in what seems like months. I played here a couple months ago and it was okay. That I considered asking for my money back

The greens are destroyed and they do not tell you until you are paid and teeing off. Still charged full price though. I wish I had photos. It was as bad as I’ve ever seen. What a shame

Things I like about this course - staff is always friendly, course is pretty open and forgiving, great for beginners like me but still challenging with trees, decent bunkers and a little water. Things I don't like about this course - the greens are an absolute joke, terrible condition, impossible to read bc it's mostly fertilizer, sad for this late in the year to still be this awful. Course condition is average at best, below average in many places. For the standard rate, I would never play there, especially with so many areas courses that are much nicer and similarly priced. I only play the Hot Deals bc that's a decent rate for 9 holes. Would never pay full price to play here, even twilight is pricey. If they kept it under $20 to ride 9 it'd be worth it, but the course condition doesn't match the cost. I recommend it only on a hot deal.

Where to start? Well the staff was super friendly which was great. The course was in bad shape. Other reviews are dead on. Greens are terrible and yes, a few of the tee boxes were basically in the rough in front of the tee boxes. I was told by another golfer that the greens were infected by 3 different viruses and just have not come back yet. It’s basically useless to even try and put on these greens! First time using Golf Now but I will take Picts of course condition next time since I know you can post them here.

How GolfNow allows this course to remain on here? This place shouldn’t even be thinking about taking money from anyone. Such an insult. Dont believe the recent 4/5 reviews. Zero grass on greens! Tee boxes are in fairways! Just a dog track. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Avoid this place! They’ve let it go. Greens are so damaged, don’t think they have seen water all year. . Barely any grass on them. Tee boxes are dirt. Wouldn’t even play if it was $1
