Steeplechase alway a treat
This used to be my home course when I lived in the Chicagoland area. It is beautiful and the greens are challenging. I had forgotten how much I love playing there. I am in town from my new home in Tennessee and what better way to remember fun times in Mundelein. Well worth it and highly recommended.
May be best public course in area
Steeplechase is awesome! Great layout, challenge, variety of holes, risk - reward opportunities and is playable. Greens, tees, fairways and bunkers are meticulously maintained.
Negatives: No driving range. I’ve played course half dozen times in past 2 years. I could be wrong, but every starter, cart attendant and workers on course all have been very grumpy, short tempered and just weren’t very friendly. That being the only drawbacks, I can live with it. Steeplechase is a great value and place to play golf!
NO DRIVING RANGE
Great course. Disappointed only a net to hit balls. Friendly starter and bartender. Others not so much. Unnecessary cart path only on back 9.
Great course
Greens rolled true at a good pace
Tee boxes ok
Fairways in good shape
Pace of play 4:05 at 9:20
Fun and challenging layout
Staff great
I play her a few times a year for 15-20 years
Brought 3 interns from the Pam program ( Penn state, New Mexico state and and Nebraska) they really enjoyed the round and course
No range alert.
Great course, good condition. Starter and bartender friendly and helpful. Other staff not so much.
Very nice and fun
This course was great to play. Some tough holes and then some that played a bit more friendly. Overall great and I will play again soon.
Could be 5 stars with playable sand traps.
Excellent track. Lots of different shots to hit. Only negative is the condition of the sand traps. Little sand and drainage pipes sticking out of all 4 i found myself in.
Hot deal
Was able to get a hot deal $59, when I was checking in, I overheard someone paying over $80, to me that’s overpriced, such a shame that these places can raise prices for the weekend, anyway course was nice but a couple greens were in fair condition, a gentleman I was playing with was a greens keeper for a few years and explained to me that they were growing 2 different kinds of grasses which was why the green looked the way it did, a couple sand traps were very shallow, not enough sand to dig in and get under the ball which seems to be the norm almost everywhere you go, other traps had some rocks and pebbles in them but I think it was worth $59, definitely wouldn’t pay over $80.
Horrific Greens
For the cost, course is not in good condition. The greens have some fungus and they are ruined !
Greens in bad shape!
Overall I like the course,,but every green was ion horrible conduction! It’s like a fungus got to them,,spotty, patchy. Can’t get a good roll on any of them
