Great value
I live in the city of Chicago but consider this my home course. Staff is exceptionally friendly, course is challenging, more so in the summer when the scrub grasses are allowed to grow knee high. Typical to Links style courses, greens are large, role true but are undulating. And they have $1 PBR's.
Good deal
Course was well kept. Couple tee boxes were on slopes not flat. There wasn't a drink cart. There were a lot of challenges including narrow fairways, links style grasses and openness made the wind a huge factor. I will go back for a second time.
Great Course in Southwest Suburbs
Had a great time playing Sanctuary on their Wednesday $29 dollar special. The course was in great shape; including the greens, which were perfect! The staff is very friendly and after the round I enjoyed a couple ice cold $1 PBR"s. With 4 sets of tee boxes this course can be fun for any golfer.
Awesome!
Great track. Greens roll great and the everything else is in great condition. No cart girl though:( Still good though.
Straight gets rewarded
First time playing this jewel of a course and will be back. Straight shots are rewarded, not long ones that miss. Rough has been trimmed from past length, but makes each shot more difficult. Few trees and enough water.
Greens are swift and true; found very few putts without a break. GPS was a great benefit for both distance and hazards. Found three sand traps that were in moderate to poor condition.
Very good challenge and value.
GREAT COURSE
Great golf course for your buck, challenging at times while being a forgiving course at the same time. With a very nice staff.
Good challenge
For the time of year the course was in good shape. Worth the golf now price.
southside gem
What a challenging, unique course that challenges all handicaps. This is a must play and you can steal a round on golf now hot deals.
Very nice course
The course was in very good condition. Fairly wide open. Pace of play was good. Great deal with fall rates.
Nice course
I like this course because it's generally well kept, offers a decent challenge, and is a nice layout with ZERO houses or road holes (a rarity in the Chicago area). I could play this course every day for that reason alone.
Pace was ok, we waited on a few holes but not bad for a sunny, 70 degree Saturday in October. Overall, round was about 4:20.
My only major criticism were the sand traps. I found many of them, and each one varied in consistency, ranging from complete mud to rock hard. Hopefully they will add some sand next year.
Sanctuary sunday
Great course- with many narrow fairways. Quite challenging but lots of fun - everyone was very nice to include the golfers on the course. I would go again if I have the chance.
This course will improve your game!
Narrow fairways lined with long fescue will demand that you are straight off the tee. Put the ball in the fairway and you will have an excellent chance at reaching the green. If not, you most likely will take a drop because you cannot find your ball. Don't worry - you will find two or three other balls that are not yours! Great course that is always in great shape!
yowza
everything was fine, but the high school golf teams invade a little too early and things get a bit problematic at times for those who are still trying to play and finish out. Get these spoiled suburbanite kids under control, coaches. Don't like the way they just bus in, and take over some areas of the course, without regard to those already there and trying to play and concentrate. Try teaching them golf etiquette, and learn some yourselves. It's called courtesy to others, you've obviously forgotten, or never learned yourselves.
Everyone likes a bargain - BUT. . .
I have played this course a few times, but Wednesday, when they offer their cheapest rate ,it is VERY crowded. It was painfully slow, we waited on every hole, and our round took 5 1/2 hours. Sanctuary is a very nice course. It is well maintained, and the course offers a good challenge, yet it is forgiving enough for higher handicaps. I would recommend this course to others, but know that if you play on Wednesday, you will be there awhile.
Great play
Course in very good condition. Pace of play was great.5th hole bunker is under repair. I played below my avg. I played with pga instuctor Lou so it was a win win!!!
Great course
We played in just under four hours. Course was great and well maintained. Staff was very friendly
Slow Play
Slow play... Marshals did nothing to improve play. They got your money, who cares after that !
Great Course, not quite worth the money
Fairways were narrow and challenging, but fair. Rough was fair given fairway size. Greens reasonably receptive. Played for 60% through GolfNow. For that price, worth it and more. For the normal $60, not worth it.
bad experience
I booked on golf now but when we arrived at the course we were told back nine was closed due to flooding and we only could play front nine and only 9 holes because they had an outing. We were told we were responsible for getting a raincheck from golf now. If we knew about this situation we would have booked a course that was open. Thankfully golf now representative took care of my situation but I thought the course handled it poorly. Also the front 9 was packed and slow play made it a bad experience
Beautiful course without the 5-Star frills
I view the Sanctuary as a hybrid style golf course that has many traditional holes and an equal amount of links style holes. The course was in fantastic shape. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were almost perfect. I thought the layout was great and if you miss hit the ball too far it was in the deep, thick rough with no chance of finding it.
The food and beverage offerings were quite limited but priced reasonably cheap. No real clubhouse to speak of but quite a bit of out door seating.
Overall, a fantastic golf course and golf course only.
