Great layout, course in great shape. always busy
Beautiful layout, challenging from any tee box. I will be back
Nice links course
Started with a fog delay, but things picked up nicely. Plenty of fescue on either side of most fairways so be prepared to wait a little longer than usual for players looking for balls when drives don't find the fairway. Challenge lies in course management and you also might want to bring a few extra balls just in case. Greens a bit challenging as well, but overall course in good condition.
Nice layout,Good condition.
Enjoyable course, Interesting layout, Good condition,--Good $30 value.
Nice and challenging
Very nice course, well kept up. The course is very challenging on the day we played because of the wind. There are well placed bunkers and some real hazards that if you arent straight you are going to pay. We played a thursday afternoon and the course was packed. It took 4:45min to finish the round. Outside of how long it took to play it was a very good experience.
Sanctuary in New Lenox
Great shape. Great Value. Keep the ball in play or the wispy grass in the secondary rough will swallow it up.
GPS in carts was an unexpected perk. A bit rigid in managing the tee off.
To start with a very nice positive, the carts had gps in them which was not advertised. Our twosome got our cart and was ready to go about 15 minutes early and the hole was clear but we were told to wait. We got off on time but were paired with a twosome one of whom wanted to tee off on the blacks and shanked a good number of his drives. The ranger came by and chose to tell me to quicken the play up and lectured me on the definition of "ready golf". He came back a bit later and had a casual conversation with the guy who played from the blacks. No mention about speeding up. If they were so worried about moving play along they should have let our twosome go off 15 minutes earlier. Unimpeded we do at most a 3 hr round.
can be a challenge
I have played the course many time and you have to keep the ball in play or trouble will find you. Numerous areas with tall fescue, water, and out of bounds make you think about ckyb selection.
This course has trouble everywhere
If you go 10 yards off the fairway, you're likely in the tall grass and you can consider your ball gone. The only way you'll find your ball in the tall stuff is if you step on it. Greens were a great speed, pretty fast but not lightning quick. If you play from the tips the drive on the 9th tee is a ridiculously difficult chute. Overall a great track, especially for a municipal course.
For a Sunday just 4 hrs to play is a real pleasure !
For a Sunday to play in under 4 hrs is a real pleasure!
quality, well maintained Golf course. Tight w/ good water holes.
Staff is not very interested in Golfer experience.
Awesome golf course.
Paid $17 for a course worth $60 !! Amazing deal...
friendly staff, good conditions, great value
If in the area, one should play this course. Many good holes more than offset the two par 5's with questionable 2nd shot strategies. Also, one must be fairly straight otherwise a lost ball in the long grass.
Nice Track
Tees, fairways, and greens very nice. Good pace of play, nice ammenities, alot of cabbage just off fairway, got to be straight off tee or possible unplayable lie.
Fast and smooth greens
Great course everybody was super nice and friendly
On most of the holes the cut portion of the the fairway is way too narrow.
Cut portion of fairway way too narrow and then there is no intermediate short rough. You can be 1 foot into the rough and spend 5 minutes looking for you ball. Also most of the pin positions were too close to the edge of the greens.
Enjoyed the round.
The course was in decent shape, not great. Layout is challenging on the back none.
Course was in great shape following the flooding
You could hardly tell that parts of the course were under water less that 10 days ago. We play here a couple of times a year and it is always in excellent condition.
Challenging course but fair. Will play herre again.
Played here for the first time this past weekend. Overall, was impressed by the course layout. Pretty challenging course, especially with 30mph wind but still fair. Enough doglegs to keep interesting. Very narrow fairways but rough is not penalizing as its more of a links style. Not sure if the rough is taller later in the season. Definetly will play here again as I am more familiar with the layout. Only complaint is there are several adjecent holes (another fairway on one or both sides) and the distance between green and next hole tee box are very close to each other.
Great for Time of Year
We played in late March so the weather hadn't been very nice to the course. It was very good condition for the time of year though. They did a great job over the winter months preserving the course. Pro shop attendant was very nice and knowledgeable.
Try The Sanctuary
We played in April, a weekday before 2pm so the course moved really fast, but this is a course that you really should try-very well maintained for the price range and fun and challenging, especially once the fescue is grown up-stay out of the fescue if you want to score low.
